Union Station
This is one of our favorite places in KC! There is lots of information on the walls for you to learn more about the rich history of the building. The beautiful architecture is amazing. An Instagram picture waiting to happen.
City Market
The KC Farmers Market is loaded with all sorts of coffee shops and restaurants. A fun place to walk around! Some of our favorite places in that area: Minsky's Pizza Harry's Country Club The Farmhouse Opera House
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
This is a FREE museum and a KC tourist staple. Everyone needs a picture with one of the shuttlecocks!
Liberty Memorial
A beautiful national monument that is at the National WWI Museum. This also has the most amazing view of the downtown KC skyline.
Crossroads
The Crossroads Art District downtown boasts a lot of local craft breweries. Do your own pub crawl at: Double Shift Border Brewing Co Casual Animal Brewery Emperial
North Kansas City
Just north of the river, is North KC that has its own area of breweries and fun places to go to like Chicken N Pickle that is a bar that has pickleball courts and yard games like giant battleship! We also like Cinder Block Brewery just across the way!
Power and Light District
P&L is filled with bars and restaurants and a hot spot for a night out in KC. You can enjoy pizza at the Pizza Bar where Jordan and Rachel first met!
Old Westport
Another area with bars and restaurants in walking distance from each other! Go to Kelly's Westport Inn, which is owned by an Iowa State alum, and grab a beer.
Country Club Plaza
If you want to get some shopping in while in town, the Plaza is one of the popular shopping districts in KC. While you are there, check out Cooper's Hawk and if you really love KC as much as we do, get a KC heart shirt from Charlie Hustle (where Rachel works part time!). They have cool stuff.
Andy's Frozen Custard
Located in the Westport area of KC (and not far from our wedding venue!), this is Jordan + Rachel's favorite ice cream place in all of KC.
Town Topic
