How long does it take to get here?

Answer

To get to Anchorage (ANC, Ted-Stevens) from the closest airport in the lower 48 (SEA, Seattle-Tacoma), it is roughly a 3-3.5 hour flight. From the airport to the venue (Alyeska, Girdwood, AK), it is approximately a 45 minute drive.

How long should we stay?

Answer

Since the trip is far for many people, we recommend staying at minimum 04/16-04/20. There are a lot of things to do, and places to see, so take some time for yourself up here as well!

Should I rent a car?

Answer

Yes! Alyeska Resort is just under an hour from the airport. For exploring outside the resort, all activities are within 1-3 hours from the resort. Uber/Lyft are also available to get to the resort. The Girdwood town shuttle provides free transportation within 2-3 mile radius. There is a chance there will be snow and icy conditions. All major highways between the airport and Girdwood, the Seward Highway and the Glenn Highway will be plowed. However, side streets and neighborhoods may still be icy. A 4WD or AWD vehicle is recommended unless you are planning to limit your driving. We hope you will consider extending your stay to explore the beautiful state of Alaska! What's the weather like in April?

Answer

April is near the end of the ski season for us, and the beginning of spring. You will more than likely see 40-50 degree sunny days, as well as freezing temperatures, snow, potentially rain, and more. Please dress accordingly! A quick reminder that the wedding itself is still a formal event so leave your Xtratufs back in the hotel room!

Will we be able to ski or snowboard?

Answer

Yes! Alyeska will still be open for their operating winter season so bring your skis and snowboards or rent gear when you are here! Other local mountains include Arctic Valley, Hilltop, and Skeetawk as well as plenty of back-country ski terrain!

How can I book the Nordic Spa services?

Answer

The Nordic Spa is a must do while you are visiting. Located next to The Hotel Alyeska, there are many outdoor pools, steam rooms, saunas and wonderful massage services. Visit their website www.anordicspa.com for more information. Group discounts will be available for spa services & hydrotherapy access. More information coming soon. Are my kids invited?

Answer

Due to price and space restrictions, if you are not in the wedding party, we ask that you find accommodations for your children as this will be an adult only celebration. Thank you for understanding!

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

This is a cocktail/semi-formal event. Please wear appropriate clothing, i.e. suits and/or button up shirts, slacks, pant suits, and knee length/cocktail dresses and/or long dresses, etc... The ceremony will be outside, so be sure to bring a jacket and leave your Xtratufs back in the room!

Can I bring a plus one to the wedding?

Answer

Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. Thank you for your understanding.

Where should I park for the wedding?

Answer

There is a small parking lot at the resort, but also an additional overflow parking lot. There is a little bit of a walk from the overflow lot. You are also welcome to valet your vehicle at the resort.
