Altitude
Answer
The YMCA Estes Park Center is over 8,000 feet above sea level. Be aware that altitude sickness is a real thing! (ask Angela's nephew, Jack, about how she got sick on the slopes skiing with the Boy Scouts!) Take it easy when you arrive, get rest, and drink lots of water. Also the sun is the real deal at this altitude - don't forget your sunscreen and sunglasses!

What Should I Wear?

Mountain Fancy! What is that?!?! It's a wedding - so we'll be fancy, but it's a mountain so be smart too! Also, keep in mind that all wedding events are outdoors. The average high temps in July are around 78 degrees and the average lows are around 50 degrees.

COVID-19 Precautions

We're excited to celebrate with you at the YMCA of the Rockies in beautiful Estes Park, surrounded by Rocky Mountain National Park. It is our hope that you'll make a trip out of it and enjoy the area with us. We understand that it is a strange time to consider travel and gathering together with a group. We are extremely hopeful that by July 25 we will all feel more comfortable traveling and celebrating with family and friends. Though we can't remove all risk of COVID-19 transmission, we are taking the following precautions: outdoor ceremony and reception, outdoor activities, guest list around 75, social distance maintained as much as possible. We will honor all precautions mandated by the YMCA of the Rockies come July 25.

Why the Y?
Answer
Anyone who knows Angela well knows she loves the local YMCA for being an organization that proudly lives out it's Christian values by connecting to and serving the community. With healthy living as one YMCA tenant, Angela's also been a group fitness instructor at the Y for almost 3 years. She knew Paul was special when he came to her class after that first date and she wasn't self conscious! Paul's been coming twice a week almost every week since! We spend more time at the Y than almost any other singular location! We were looking for an outdoor wedding destination in the mountains with beautiful scenery - it was also an extra special bonus to celebrate at and continue to support the Y! (Ironically, the song YMCA will be on the 'Do Not Play' list - it drives Angela crazy!)
