We met online! Was there any other way to meet someone in 2018? Though Paul led with an intro email of "Hey" (an online dating faux pas) and Angela almost cancelled (tired of after work plans requiring cleaning up in the hospital bathroom) - we somehow still made it to Mesh Restaurant in downtown Indianapolis! Plans for a quick after work "meeting" turned into walking out with the restaurant staff after close. It may have been a mutual love for the blue cheese, but it was likely the ease of conversation and chemistry that led to a weekend full of dates...And we've been together since...
Paul proposed on top of a mountain in Park City, Utah! Though we had talked marriage (Angela may have bought him a marriage book many months prior), Paul did an excellent job planning the surprise! After a solid climb where Paul often had the lead, Angela came around the corner near the top to find him down on one knee. After a few instances of "wait, what?!" she said "Yes!" And then screamed and called our moms so loud another hiker had to check on us, thinking we might be injured and calling for help! Paul's original proposal plans on a hike that morning were delayed after Angela ranted about "commitment issues" when she refused to take the tags of a new pair of hiking pants "just in case," but it worked out even better as the proposal ended up at the top of Park City Hill. Unbeknownst to us at the time, the PC Hill is an icon in the city and a trail we should be able to find and visit again in the future!
