We climbed the bell tower, which is not for the faint of heart. There are 414 steps and the stairwell gets narrow, but it's well worth the view! You could also climb the dome of the duomo. Also, you can't miss heading down below the Duomo to see the multiple layers built over time. Highly, recommend booking tickets well in advance.

Spend hours marveling at artwork by Bernini and Caravaggio! Our favorite piece is Apollo e Dafne by Bernini. Also spend time exploring the garden full of busts, fountains, landscaping and a fantastic view of the city. Then you can skip on over to the Spanish Steps!
This is the best preserved Ancient Rome monument and contains the tombs of Raphael and several Italian Kings and poets. Check out the Pantheon's giant dome and its oculus! It was the largest in world for 1300 years and remains the largest unsupported dome in the world.
We were lucky in 2023 to witness a giant Italian flag and the Frecce Tricolori release smoke of green, white and red above Via del Corso. You can get tickets just to enter or book several different tours to get a guided tour of the Colosseum, the underground, the Roman Forum or with Palatine hill! Recommend booking tickets or a tour ahead of time.
Vatican City, a city-state surrounded by Rome, Italy, is the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church. It's home to the Pope and a trove of iconic art and architecture. Its Vatican Museums house ancient Roman sculptures such as the famed “Laocoön and His Sons” as well as Renaissance frescoes in the Raphael Rooms and the Sistine Chapel, famous for Michelangelo’s ceiling. Recommend booking a tour ahead of time to skip the giant line to get in.
We hope to spend more time in the Amalfi Coast in the future. This was a great day trip to get a taste of the Amalfi Coast! This included visiting a lemon farm, wondering around Amalfi and Positano. If you want, you could spend your time dipping into the water, getting custom sandals made, or just enjoying all the delicious food!
