Wear something colorful! Dressy casual works great (think sundress, jumpsuit, fun trousers, or a button-down/trousers, a festive top with nice jeans works well too) along with comfortable shoes (flats, wedges, sandals, nice/fashion sneakers, boots, etc). A photographer will be present to capture this welcome event.
Semi-formal/cocktail attire
Yes! Traveling to and within San Miguel de Allende is safe as long as you take reasonable precautions and use common sense (e.g., travel during the day). San Miguel is considered to be one of the safest cities in the country. As always with traveling, whether internationally or in the US, just be mindful of your surroundings. We can put you in touch with other guests if you wish to travel in a bigger group.
We hope you understand that due to budget constraints, limited space, and the contracts signed with the venue/vendors, we only have space for those listed on the invitation. Thank you for understanding our event is by invitation only.
To allow everybody the ability to relax and enjoy the evening, we have chosen to make our special days adults-only.
Renting a car is not recommended for just being in San Miguel. The town is relatively small and dense with narrow cobblestone streets. The city is extremely walkable, but please pack comfortable shoes! Plus, ubers/cabs are everywhere and affordable! If you take a cab while in the city, make sure you use a green or white one (these are official). Also make sure to agree on a rate to your destination before accepting the ride or ask for them to turn on the meter.
San Miguel de Allende sits at an elevation of 6200 ft (1900m) above sea level. The average temperature during the month of May are high of mid-80s during the day and a low of mid-50s at night. It is right before the rainy season, but there may be some showers. In general, pack for different temperatures. https://weatherspark.com/y/4978/Average-Weather-in-San-Miguel-de-Allende-Mexico-Year-Round#Sections-BestTime
Mexico uses the Mexican Peso so it's a good idea to carry some cash in small denominations. Many places do take cards, sometimes they might charge a card fee. The VAT (value added tax) for good and services is currently 16%.
San Miguel de Allende is a town where most can be explored with 2-3 days depending on interests. See things to do page to get a sense of what's available.
The city has it charm with cobblestone streets and colonial buildings. That being said, getting around may require a little extra attention for anybody with mobility issues. The ceremony/reception venue will take place on a rooftop which is only accessible by a flight of stairs (no elevator). Please wear comfortable shoes that provide enough stability and watch your step. Importantly, when booking your place to stay make sure to ask/request any special needs (1st floor room only, are there elevators, etc).
