Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Nicole Salas and Jed Abello
We chose Boracay Island for a reason! There's a bunch of fun things to do, here's what we recommend.

breakfast dining

Most hotels come with complimentary breakfast! You may also consider these restaurants below: Real Coffee Lazy Dog Lemon Café Sunny Side Café Friday's Restaurant - brunch (try their seafood risotto!)

filipino cuisine

We suggest trying: Pamana Restaurant Maya’s Subo Restaurant Titos "Station Juan" at White House offers delicious spread from traditional Filipino and international cuisine, their famous Panizza is a must try. Most of these restaurants offer seafood, but if you want to personally choose and buy fresh seafood, go to "Tindahan It Boracay" and have it cooked at one of the market’s restaurants that offer the service.

beach hopping

Trips around the island often include snorkeling stopovers at different beaches or coves; the most popular of which are Puka Beach, Ilig-Iligan Beach, Laurel Island & Crocodile Island. The front desk of the resorts can arrange boat trips with lunch packages. **Banana Boat, Zorb, Zipline and Dune Buggy Tours are nice too!

Aqua Sports

The island has more than 24 dive sites and over 20 dive centers offering services suited for beginners and experienced divers alike. Windsurfing, kite surfing, wake boarding, jet skiing, parasailing, sunset paraw sailing, and banana boat riding are also very popular Boracay activities. Many sport shops display their services along the pedestrian pathway and are easy to find.

ARIEL'S POINT CLIFF DIVING

Conquer your fear of heights with a full day of cliff diving and water sports. You’ll be whisked out onto the open waters in a longtail boat along with a dozen other thrill seeking backpackers and travelers. The boat will bring you to Ariel’s Point where you’ll climb up the rocky steps until you reach the main deck. That’s where the fun begins. You’ll see that there are 3 planks from which you can dive, ranging from 3 meters to 15 meters. Start with a simple Pencil Dive or you might end up making a loud slapping sound when you hit the water. If you want to play in the water but are too nervous to cliff dive, you can ascend the cliff via a bamboo ladder. There is snorkeling, kayaking, and paddle boarding to enjoy when you sign up for Ariel’s day pass. This day pass includes a lunch buffet as well as an open bar to give you some courage.

WHITE BEACH

Boracay’s main beach is called White Beach. The sand is powder soft, the water is crystal blue, and the coconuts are cold (Nicole's recommendation: DRINK A FRESH COCONUT!!) White Beach is 4 kilometers long and is divided into 3 sections: Boat Station 1, Boat Station 2, and Boat Station 3. You’ll find that hotels and restaurants use these boat stations as markers of reference. Station 1 is known to be the high-end area; Station 2 is where most of the restaurants, bars, and shopping are located; and Station 3 is the quieter area away from nightlife. Take your pick.

SCUBA DIVING

With a tropical coral reef that is home to more biodiversity than anywhere else in the world, you are in for a show. You can expect to see sharks, tunas, rays, and tons of colorful fish. You’ll find a plethora of dive shops on the island offering similar packages and visiting similar dive locations, so just walk around and see where you can get the best deal. Currents in these waters are mild so Boracay makes for an ideal spot for beginners to take their open water diving course.

Shopping

Boracay

Handicraft stores and clothing shops line the path between White Beach and Bulabog Beach. The central market, also called Talipapa, offers a variety of beachwear fashion shops, specialty shops, & many food stalls. The outdoor upscale bizarre, often referred to as ‘D Mall’, offers souvenirs such as paintings, and jewelry. There are proper shops here as well, where you can buy new flip-flops, bathing suits, and clothing to wear on the beach. There are also shops here that sell beach and water accessories such as floating rafts and buckets for sandcastles. City Mall is the first and newly opened mall on the island, if you’re looking for a full-sized supermarket and fast food chains. All shopping centers are perfect for "pasalubong" or souvenir shopping.

spa and massage

There are a number of spas in Boracay, but the spa at Shangri-La Resort is one to visit. Chi, The Spa at Shangri-La, draws inspiration from the origins of the Shangri-La legend, a place of personal peace, enchantment and well-being. It is located on a rocky peninsula, looking across a private bay, the detached spa village complex is designed to be a sanctuary within the resort. Many licensed masseurs roam the beachfront offering massages from $7-10/hour (Php 350.00 - 450/hour). You can also treat yourself to a luxurious day at the Mandala Spa. Being very popular, it is advisable to book reservations early. For treatments and rates you can check the website: www.mandalaspa.com.

Visit Exit or Aplaya for Techno music. For the brave, try Cocomangas’ at Station 1 for infamous 15 shots and still standing and proudly have your name immortalized on their wall of fame. Club Galaxy, is the newly opened and the biggest Bar on the island.
