Here is our version of the 2021 "standard" wedding checklist: - RSVP for the wedding by June 1, 2021. - Confirm the details of your hotel reservation (or make a reservation if you have not yet). - Make travel arrangements (flights appear to be cheap and flexible). - Receive your COVID-19 vaccination as soon as it is available. (This isn't just to protect you but to provide a safe environment for all of our guests. Under the guidance California released on April 2, events with over 100 people can only happen if everyone is vaccinated or tested for COVID.) - Make some fun travel plans! Fingers crossed, and we can't wait to come together and see you in July for some much needed celebration!
Yes, the wedding is happening on July 3, 2021, barring any unforeseen developments! On April 2, California announced new guidance for events, allowing outdoor events with over 100 guests as long as everyone is vaccinated or tested for COVID-19. This is an incredibly exciting development, and it means that for the first time since the pandemic began, our wedding can finally proceed as planned as long as the pandemic stays under control. So, in the meantime, we must all do our part to make that happen: be safe, wear your mask, and get your COVID-19 vaccination as soon as it is available!
We are planning to spend the week before the wedding in Santa Rosa preparing for the wedding and hopefully seeing as many people as possible. California is beautiful and you should explore as much of it as you can. We have added a sampling of recommendations to the Things to Do page. We are happy to help provide some recommendations ahead of time as you all have questions.
We are hoping to have an after party at the Flamingo on Saturday, depending on what is open due to COVID. In normal times, the hotel bar/lounge is open until 2 am and typically has live music. If it's not open, we will see if there are alternative options. We will have the shuttle running from the venue to the hotel from around 9:30-11:30 (maybe later if needed). Sunday - There is supposed to be an incredible brunch at the hotel if you are interested. We plan to hang pool side while we rest, recover and say our thank yous to everyone for making their way out to our "backyard".
