I was on a work trip in Phoenix the week before Christmas when I got a notification that a yurt was available on Christmas Eve in Idaho City. I immediately texted Nick asking if we should do it, and he said to book it - he’d make it happen. After a little meal planning and shopping, we packed our backpacks and headed up to Idaho City to hike to Hennessy Yurt. After a couple of hours, we arrived and got cozy - fired up the wood stove, chopped firewood, melted snow for water, ate snacks, played with Kobe, and of course made coffee to enjoy on the deck. Then Nick suggested we go for a hike. As we were walking, he suddenly got down on one knee. I was completely shocked when I realized he was proposing! Of course, I said YES. He even hiked up an entire bottle of champagne, and we spent the rest of the night soaking it all in. It was absolutely perfect.
