2020 and Our Wedding

As many people have experienced, things in 2020 didn't exactly goes as planned. Though we feel very blessed to be where we are and that we weren't as effected as so many others throughout the past year, we did have to postpone our wedding. We want to thank you all for sticking with us and being willing to wait out these crazy time until we could have a proper celebration. As of the end of January 2022, Ireland has lifted all of their restrictions and are allowing travelers back at full capacity with only a negative test requirement to enter the country. Live music, pubs, and must visit sites are all back! It's been a long road, but this wedding is going to be one to remember! See you in July!

How We Met

And the Friendship Begins

The first time we met was at a Sunday brunch. I was sitting with a few of my friends at a table at one of the best brunch spots in town. Meanwhile, Nick was at the bar watching a football game with his friend Zack. I had known Zack for a few months at that point and when he saw us in the restaurant, he and Nick came over to join us. Zack introduced us all to Nick Johnson the Banker, which gave part to one of his nicknames, Banker Nick. When I introduced myself, I of course had to make a sarcastic comment so that he wouldn't know that I thought he was attractive. "Not every day is upper body day" is still a joke between the two of us. A few weeks later, we ran into each other at a business event and realized that we had great chemistry both on the business and personal side. We became a networking team and close friends. From pumpkin carving and afternoons at the Balcony to Chamber and charity events, we earned the nickname, "the Kennedys". It wasn't until a year later that Nick and I shared our 1st kiss on a bridge in the middle of a rainstorm.

The Proposal

Christmas in Paris

One of our favorite things to do is travel, which gives us the opportunity to experience different cultures and explore beautiful new places. During Christmas 2018, we spent 2 weeks in Paris and Bruges with friends and family. We had decided to go to the Palace of Versaille on our 1st day and wait for the rest of the group to show up before we went to the Eiffel Tower. Unfortunately, when we woke up that morning, there was a protest going on at the Palace. So, while Nick was sleeping, an executive decision was made to explore the city and walk to the Tower. Little did I know that Nick was planning on proposing at the Eiffel Tower. When Nick woke up and was told that we were going to the Tower today, the nerves kicked in. He didn't say much that morning. The closer we got to the Eiffel Tower, the more nervous he got. My sister, Jenny, had known the whole time what was going to happen and was prepared to help. When Nick asked Jenny to take a photo of us in front of the Tower, she started recording instead. As we were posing for the photo, Nick turned and got down on one knee. Before he even started talking, I turned and walked a few steps away to gather myself for a second, which terrified Nick. Obviously, I came right back and said yes! We've had many chapters in our relationship and are excited to start this new one!
