Erin is Jacqua's sister and oldest friend. Growing up, the two were inseparable, communicating more often through inside jokes than regular sentences. There weren't many things that Jacqua had set her mind on regarding her wedding before getting engaged, but having Erin as her Maid of Honor was the one thing she was certain of. Jacqua had the honor of serving in the role in Erin's wedding last summer, and she couldn't imagine having anyone else stand next to her on her wedding day!
Ben Stevens
Best Man
Ben and Nick have one of the most unique and fulfilling friendships. Since freshman year of high school, Ben has been a constant in Nick’s life; celebrating with him in the good times and supporting him in life’s challenges, every time pointing him back to Christ. From high school homecomings, college late night adventures, and visits to DC/ Cincinnati, Ben has been Nick’s best friend and prayer warrior. Nick was proud to stand by Ben’s side at his wedding to his bride, Mindy, and Nick couldn’t be more excited to have Ben stand by his side for his own wedding.
Taylor Carroll

Taylor is Jacqua's oldest sister and one of her longest friends. Jacqua has always looked up to Taylor and has learned so much from her over the years, especially when it comes to motherhood and the importance of family. Having Taylor play such a big role in this season of Jacqua's life has been so sweet (including going ring shopping with Nick)! Jacqua's first experience as a bridesmaid was in Taylor's wedding to her husband, Jeff, and she is so excited to now have Taylor as a bridesmaid in her own wedding!
Dan Martin

Nick first met Dan when he offered to give Nick a ride home after church in the fall of 2016. Nick and Dan quickly became much closer than friends and a lot more like brothers. They do almost everything together: men’s groups together, family holidays (shout-out Taylor/ Kirby family Thanksgiving 2020), and many, many other things. Dan has been Nick’s rock and one of his biggest spiritual supporters as a young adult in DC. Nick and Dan truly have a lifelong friendship.
Megan Shoemaker

Jacqua and Megan first met the summer before 9th grade when they were preparing for high school cheerleading tryouts. Over the years, Megan has held many titles in Jacqua's life — classmate, teammate, roommate, and now bridesmaid, but the one that sums it up most appropriately is best friend. She has been there for so many of Jacqua's biggest life moments over the last 15 years. Megan is one of the most fun-loving, loyal, and dependable people Jacqua is lucky enough to call a friend!
Ben Scott

Ben (“Scottie”) and Nick have been friends since 6th grade football. Scottie and Nick have shared so many of life’s most formative moments together, including playing defensive back together in high school football, doing yard work together in summers before college, numerous times watching Austin Powers together, Nick standing next to Scottie in his wedding to his bride McKenzie, and many others. Scottie is one of Nick’s closest and oldest friends.
Megan Lundmark

Megan is one of Jacqua's oldest and dearest friends. Since the 9th grade, Megan has been one of the most consistent, genuine, and loyal friends in Jacqua's life. From cheering together in high school, to being neighbors in college, to planning their weddings together, Megan has been there through every season! After 15 years of friendship, Megan has truly become closer than a best friend to Jacqua and more like a sister.
Dave Constance

Dave and Nick are a real life Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute—work friends that became close friends! Dave and Nick met at WeWork in 2017 and quickly became close buddies working together in sales. Nick and Dave both love Big Ten football, oysters at Old Ebbitt Grill, and their Golden Retrievers from the same litter: Harvey and Booker.
Kylee Watkins

Kylee and Jacqua first met at JMU where they shared the same major, frequently commiserating over late-night study sessions. The two really became inseparable, though, after both moving to Alrington and going to work for Fannie Mae after graduation. Kylee and Jacqua have shared so much, from navigating young adulthood together, to traveling as far as Thailand together, to preparing for their weddings together. Through all of the life's changes, Kylee has always, consistently been someone Jacqua can count on!
Brandon Champion

Brandon and Nick met while interning in Washington, DC prior to their senior year of college. Although Brandon is a fan of the team up north (Ohio State has a 5-3 record over Michigan during their friendship), Nick considers Brandon one of his closest friends and confidants, sharing some of the most fun moments of early adulthood together.
Emily Kirby

When Jacqua and Nick first started dating, he made it very clear that being friends with his sister was a non-negotiable deal breaker. Luckily for Jacqua, Emily made that easy! Emily is the epitome of warm, southern hospitality. She is one of the most genuine, thoughtful people Jacqua knows. Jacqua is so excited to get to call Emily not only a great friend, but also her sister!
Robert Kirby

Robert and Nick met when Robert and Emily (Nick’s sister) started dating in the summer of 2015. Robert quickly became one of Nick’s best friends, sharing a love for baseball, football, country music, and the Lord. Robert has been a friend and role model for Nick, especially as Nick started to date Jacqua. Nick is proud to have his brother standing with him as a groomsmen.

The first time Jacqua met Jess in January 2021, the confidence and joy that she gave off made her instantly someone Jacqua knew she wanted to be friends with. Jess has been the biggest answer to prayer in Jacqua's life - laughing, crying, and praying alongside her through some of the highest-highs and lowest-lows.

Nick is proud to call Sam a future brother-in-law. Sam is truly a kind soul, the life of the party, and shares in Nick's love for country music. Nick is so excited to become Sam’s brother!
Julie Bernstein

Although Jacqua and Julie both went to JMU, they didn't meet until they both happened to join the same church small group in early 2021, right after her own wedding. Julie has the incredible ability to simultaneously be the life of the party and the wisest person in the room. The way she loves her friends so fiercely and serves others so well, along with her incredible knowledge of the Bible have made her one of Jacqua's greatest role models and friends. She has been such a blessing in this season of navigating Christian dating and engagement!
Mike Bill

Mike is one of the most genuine friends Nick has. Meeting at Passion City Church in 2019, Nick can always count on Mike to share in accountability, a beer over wings and football, and the latest conspiracy theories.
Molly Harrington

Jacqua first met Molly when she started going to Passion City Church in 2019, and although they served together for years on the Environments Team, their friendship really started to grow after Jacqua and Nick started dating. Molly is one of the most caring, fun, generous people that Jacqua knows and is fortunate enough to call one of her best friends!
Thomas Bowen

Thomas and Nick’s friendship began serving together at Passion City Church in 2019. Although their friendship started through mutual friends, Nick and Thomas began to realize they had a lot in common, including their sense of quick witted humor. Thomas has been a steady, yet comical voice for Nick through prayer, memes, and cigars. Nick is so happy to call Thomas friend and a trusted brother in Christ that he can always count on.
Jenn Griffiths

Jenn and Jacqua first met freshman year at Virginia Tech through a mutual friend when they agreed to sign a lease on a 4-bedroom apartment for Sophomore year. When Jacqua transferred to JMU (consequently breaking said lease - sorry Jenn), they lost touch. It wasn't until Jenn moved to DC and started coming to Passion City Church in the fall of 2021 that they reconnected - almost 7 years later! Jacqua quickly realized how great of friends they would have been if they had gotten to live together in college, and Jenn has been one of her best friends ever since!

Clay and Nick met serving on the operations team at Passion City Church DC. Quickly becoming one of Nick’s closer friends, cigar buddies, and role models, Clay is one of the most intentional men that Nick has ever met. Nick is so proud to have Clay in his corner.
