Orenaug Park located on Park Road is open from dawn to dusk. At the entrance to Orenaug Park are two towers that welcome any and all who hike up the hill and around the park. So what makes them so special? They are one of the only two structures in Connecticut purposely made up of stones from all 50 states. (The other being a little stone building in Storrs.) There is a trail starting on Park road and a trail starting from behind the town library. Both trails end at the fire observation tower. The Orenaug Fire Tower was built in 1911. It was the lookout for fires within the Pomperaug River Valley. It’s 260 feet above Woodbury’s Main Street and 520 feet above sea level. Orenaug Park Fire Tower is a 0.9 mile out and back trail located near Woodbury, Connecticut that features a great forest setting. The trail is good for all skill levels and primarily used for walking, trail running, and nature trips.
