4:00pm – 7:00pm If you're coming in on Thursday, join us for drinks and good company. Note that this is a non-hosted event, but come as you are and drop by anytime! (Bar has food options as well.)
12pm – 3pm Of course this is totally optional, but I (Ray) would LOVE to see everyone get out on the pickleball court for some round robin tournament fun. Some of my favorite childhood memories were (too competitive) ping pong tournaments with family in the summers in San Diego and we're going to recreate the magic. I'm hoping to get 12-16 teams together on Old Town Mammoth's new pickleball courts where we'll have a group stage followed by semis and a final. If it sounds serious, it's not (unless...), so come out and enjoy some friendly and family fun and meet other guests. Beginners and experienced players alike will have a blast I promise. (The park has a limited number of free rackets but if you have extra from home, bring them along so we can make sure everyone who wants to can participate please!)
8:30am - 10:00am Join us for a light hike the morning of the wedding. Bring your own coffee and we will brings some donuts to snack on. This 1.5-mile loop around Horseshoe Lake "varies from road width to single track, follows the contours of the lakeshore around the south side of the lake and then meanders through lodgepole pine forest to the Lakes Basin Path for a quick final paved section back to the trailhead. There are bridges and several easy stream crossings, meadows, picnic spots, sandy-beach access and good views of the Mammoth Crest looming above." There's also a .5-mile add-on to McLeod Lake, where—warm-weather permitting—you're invited to "take the plunge" with us and refresh yourself in a subalpine dip in crystal clear water. (This is also a good fishing spot for the anglers in attendance.) Meet at the Horseshoe Lake Staging Area where there's ample parking. ***
We want all our guests to enjoy this special place in the best way for them. If our social events don't match up with your travel schedule or you're looking for other ideas, the following is a short list.
Blues and beer festival held among the lodgepole pines. They usually have some decent headliners but be sure to save your energy for our dancefloor
Geologic wonder a short shuttle ride from either the Village or the base of the mountain
Simply a must. Try the flights. (Fun fact: Rebecca's parents Jeanette and David met here in 1984, then called The Whiskey Creek)
It's not a trip to Mammoth without one stop for breakfast/brunch at The Stove. Bring your appetite; portions are generous.
This lake at the end of Lake Mary Rd is a starting point for hikes both big and small or a perfect place for a relaxing lunch on the lake shore
If you fish, you already know about Mammoth Lakes...
Ask us for recs. Or better yet, join us for whatever we're doing that week!
