SAME TIME, SAME PLACE - NEW DATE

Join us 7/24/2021

While guidelines are ever-changing in response to the global pandemic, we plan on following whatever current guidelines require at the time of our wedding. At the moment, we believe we will be hosting 64 guests, masked and social distanced. Our ceremony and reception will be taking place outdoors, and dancing will be allowed with masks! We will be providing other activities for those who don't feel comfortable with dancing. We are so looking forward to finally being able to celebrate with you all! ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎

We Meet

9/7/2016

We met at Edgefield (through Tinder, but Edgefield sounds better) for our first date. Fun fact - Akari, a lifelong Oregonian, had never been to Edgefield before this date, and was a little lost. She was on the phone with a friend, trying to figure out where she was and was starting to (surprise!) get a little anxious about where she was supposed to go to meet Mikkel. Meanwhile, Mikkel had already seen Akari but was enjoying watching her walk back and forth, so he said nothing. Truly, it's a miracle that the date ever got off the ground, but we finally saw each other and spent the rest of the night under the stars next to a fire getting to know each other and talking about the Little and Big Dipper.

We Say Yes

2/25/2019

It wasn't until Mikkel moved to Florida a couple years ago that we knew we had something we didn't want to let go of. Ask Akari which states rank lowest on her "places I want to live" list. Go ahead, I dare you. Somehow, though, Mikkel was worth it. Mikkel proposed to Akari in front of the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse, and it may have broken a world record how quickly she said, "yes!". Just kidding! Akari forgot to say, "yes" and accidentally grabbed the ring to put on her own finger.

We Marry...Again!

7/24/2021 - McMenamins Edgefield

Confession: This wedding isn't the first time we've exchanged vows. We were legally married to save Mikkel from being unceremoniously returned to Denmark, in the beautiful setting of the Broward County Central Courthouse. But somehow, the whole marriage didn't quite feel complete without getting to celebrate it with our closest family and friends. That's where you come in! We are over the moon that we'll have people from all over the world coming to celebrate the love that we share. Get your tissues packed, your dancing shoes shined, and do your vocal warm-ups folks! We can't wait to sing and dance the night away with y'all.
