Maid of Honor
Amber and Mika met when they were both nurses in the Coronary ICU at VCU. They quickly became friends and bonded over their shared love of good wine, fine dining, dogs, and shopping!
Matron of Honor
Lauren and Mika go way back to their underachiever days in undergrad. They became fast friends once they realized they were the only nursing students sitting in the back row of their anatomy lecture freshman year.
Bridesman
Alec is Mika’s brother and although they might have had their fair share of fights over their LEGO kingdom growing up, these days they’re besties. They may live across the country from each other but distance can’t ever break the family bond these two have.
Bridesmaid
Katie and Mika are literal “BFFs”. They’ve been friends for over 20 years! From harp recitals to elaborate plots. First crushes and first drinks they’ve been besties through it all. Even now, when they live across the country from each other they still make sure to skype each other regularly to keep up to date. This is the true meaning of friends forever!
Bridesmaid
Sweta was one of the first friends Mika made when she transferred to the Electrophysiology Lab. They soon bonded over their love of champagne and junk food, frequently going on snack runs to the hospital gift shop to stock up on chips for a much needed late night “dinner” when they got stuck at work after hours.
Best Man
Joe and Brett met over 25 years ago, Brett was 11 & Joe was balding. They bonded over a Christian rap album by Brotha Lynch & became fast friends. Despite losing his hair at an age when most people are losing their virginity, Joe became one of the coolest, anorexic, suburban gangsters around. Brett was also an embarrassing little sh*t at this age. Thankfully for all humanity, teenage years come to an end, Joe & Brett matured (sort of) & became roommates. They had the occasional argument & all of Joe's belongings would end up locked in his room. They were both stubborn, so Brett didn't mind sitting on a couch with no cushions, watching a TV on the floor while eating soup with a fork because all the spoons were gone. Anyway, they've been friends for a long time and still are.
Groomsman
Jory and Brett sported aprons with the best of them at Fred Meyer, where they met as coworkers over a decade ago. They started hanging out outside of work pretty quickly, playing basketball and going out for dinner and drinks, but mostly drinks. There were a lot of shenanigans involving hotdogs for some reason. From Brett being hit by a drive-by hotdogging that was meant for Jory, to a police report involving hotdogs and some mystery mustard & onions, to Jory constantly trying to buy the whole hotdog stand after last call...just hotdogs, always with the freak'n hotdogs.
Groomswoman
Brett and Hester are the 2 cofounding (and only) members of Too Much Good Stuff Crew. It was founded during a hotdog duel/food fight in a gas station parking lot, has no meaning, and serves no purpose. Hester is hilarious. Brett is mildly entertaining under the right circumstances. Oh yeah, and they met when they were both brand new ninth graders at Interlake High School, that's like 3 lifetimes ago in dog years!
Groomsman
Mike aka "Taibo" and Brett met at some point early in high school, probably in a library or book club or something...it's hard to say, they were both such studious, overachieving bookworms at that age studying subjects like theory of sarcasm & hangover management. Through his extensive research on the subject, Mike invented the complex drinking game known as "Lift, drink, smile" in which you, well, it's just too much to explain here. The point is, they went through their awkward teenage years, slightly less awkward early 20's & everything that came after and are still very good friends.
