The Cinque Terre refers to 5 cities along the Italian Riviera (Monterosa, Vernazza, Corniglia, Maharola, and Riomaggione). You can make this a day trip but most travel guides recommend spending a few days exploring this area. It is about a 2-3 hour trip by car, bus, or train.
