El Salvador International Airport (SAL)
For those flying in please plan to arrive at Monseñor Óscar Arnulfo Romero International Airport (SAL), El Salvador’s primary international airport, located just outside of San Salvador. From the airport, Cardedeu at Lake Coatepeque is approximately a 1.5-hour drive, depending on traffic conditions. Several major airlines offer direct or connecting flights to El Salvador from cities across the United States, including American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Avianca, and Spirit Airlines.

Accommodations at Cardedeu Hotel: There are three Cardedeu hotel options available, which can sometimes cause confusion when booking. Please make sure you select the location that works best for you: Cardedeu – Lake View: This is where the wedding celebration will take place. Cardedeu – Lakefront: Located just steps above the event venue, making it the closest alternative option. Cardedeu Residence: An apartment-style property with lake access, located about 10 minutes from the venue. Please note that two large weddings are scheduled at Cardedeu just before our celebration, so room availability may be more limited than usual. We kindly recommend booking your accommodations as early as possible. We truly appreciate your understanding and apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. On Sunday, November 8, transportation to and from Cardedeu Lake view can be arranged for guests staying at Cardedeu Residence and Cardedeu Lakefront. Please coordinate directly with the front desk and request transportation at least 30 minutes in advance.

For guests traveling in larger groups, we highly recommend checking out Airbnb options around Lago de Coatepeque. There are plenty of stunning lakefront homes perfect for families or friend groups.

Rental Car
Zona Rent a Car El Salvador
If you’re planning to explore during your stay, we recommend renting a car for flexibility and ease. We suggest using Waze for driving directions, as it tends to be the most accurate navigation app in the area. If you plan to cross the border into Guatemala with your rental car, please be sure to inform the rental company in advance to arrange the proper documentation. Note: Driving in El Salvador is challenging, but very similar to driving in New York. The City area is more congested compared to roads closer to beaches.
Travel Note
Uber
Uber is widely available throughout El Salvador and generally works very well across the country, including in San Salvador and other major areas. However, if you plan to use Uber around Lake Coatepeque, please keep in mind that driver availability can be more limited. We recommend requesting your ride with plenty of time in advance to avoid delays, especially during busy times.
