Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Michelle Sorto and Terrence Galindo
While visiting El Salvador, we recommend exploring beaches, volcanoes, and charming towns. For those who love adventure, Santa Ana Volcano and Surf City are unforgettable. And of course, don’t miss trying the local cuisine, including our beloved pupusas!
Historic Center of San Salvador (Centro Histórico de San Salvador)

Historic Center of San Salvador (Centro Histórico de San Salvador)

San Salvador, San Salvador, El Salvador

The historic heart of San Salvador (Centro Histórico) is a must-visit, blending vibrant plazas, beautiful architecture, and rich culture. Explore landmarks like the Metropolitan Cathedral, National Theatre, National Library (BINAES), and National Palace, then enjoy amazing restaurants and lively bars along the way. It’s the perfect place to soak in the energy and charm of El Salvador.

The Santa Ana Volcano hike (Volcán Ilamatepec)

The Santa Ana Volcano hike (Volcán Ilamatepec)

The Santa Ana Volcano hike is one of the most popular things to do in El Salvador. The hike is affordable, easy to access via public transport and the views inside the crater and of the surrounding volcanoes is truly epic.

Surf City

Surf City

El Salvador

Surf City is home to some of the most beautiful and diverse beaches in El Salvador. Each one has its own vibe whether you’re looking to surf, relax, explore, or enjoy great food by the ocean. Two of our favorites are: El Zonte is a laid-back, bohemian beach known for its peaceful atmosphere and consistent surf. It’s perfect if you want to escape the crowds and truly unwind. What to do: • Surf world-class waves (great for beginners to intermediate surfers) • Relax on the rocky-sand beach and watch stunning sunsets • Explore tide pools and tamanique waterfalls nearby El Tunco is the heart of Surf City’s social scene. It’s lively, colorful, and full of energy (especially on weekends) What to do: • Surf for all levels (rentals and lessons widely available) • Enjoy beachfront bars, restaurants, and nightlife • Shop for local crafts and souvenirs • Take photos of the famous rock formation at sunset If you want a mix of surf + fun + nightlife, this is your spot.

NAWi Beach House

NAWi Beach House

Mizata, La Libertad, El Salvador

For a truly memorable and laid‑back beach experience, we recommend a stop at NAWi Beach House in Mizata. This vibrant oceanfront club and restaurant blends tropical views, fresh coastal cuisine, and relaxed beach energy, perfect for unwinding between adventures.

Apaneca

Apaneca

Apaneca, Ahuachapán Department, El Salvador

One thing you have to do in Apaneca is an ATV ride through the mountains. Super fun, a little adventurous, and the views from the top are absolutely worth it.

Albania adventure Park

Albania adventure Park

Apaneca, Ahuachapán Department, El Salvador

We highly recommend visiting Café Albania, located about 1–1.5 hours from Lake Coatepeque. It’s best known for its incredible ziplining through the mountains, along with fun attractions like the rainbow slide, surf zipline, bike zipline, wings swing, and a large natural maze, making it the perfect mix of adrenaline and breathtaking views. If adventure isn’t your thing, you can still enjoy a relaxing visit with a great cup of coffee. Café Albania serves coffee sourced directly from local farmers in the Apaneca–Ilamatepec region, so it’s the perfect spot to take in the views and unwind
