We have created a shared Google album for people to add photos they have taken throughout the weekend! Please join here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/beDC9bNRPPZcph8t7 [Please note we ask guests to refrain from taking photos/videos during the ceremony]
We love all the littles in our lives! Children are invited to the Welcome Picnic and the Ceremony. However, the Reception is only for adults. If you'd rather leave the kiddos at home to enjoy a weekend getaway - we won't judge! Do what is right for you and your family.
There are so many beautiful traditions in our faith; we'll try to explain as many as possible in the program provided at the ceremony. There are parts you are encouraged to participate in (the Lord's Prayer, singing of Christ is Risen / Christos Anesti, etc.) and we'll have those highlighted. We welcome your prayers as we enter this next chapter of our lives. As for the Reception - get ready to party! We'll have a live Greek band; go to "Greek Dance Tutorials" tab for links to instructional videos (we'll also practice at the Welcome Picnic). There will be plenty of American music as well. We fell in love on the dance floor and look forward to seeing everyone getting down to celebrate with us.
Not intentionally! However, you will see some people throwing dollar bills on the dance floor, especially at / on top of the couple as a way to share good wishes and celebrate. Feel free to participate if you're inclined. (note: money thrown goes to the band at the end of the evening)
On the schedule page, there is attire guidance for each event. For the ceremony and reception, guidance is Formal. Typically for men, this includes a tux or dark suit. For women, this includes a floor-length dress, elegant cocktail dress, or formal jumpsuit. Most important is to remember your dancing shoes - don't miss out on fun for fashion. Sparkle sneakers or dressy flats encouraged!
This is for the Greeks - please arrive at least 25 mins early (seriously). We get it - we're genetically disposed to be chronologically flexible; but we have a long, fun day ahead and we don't want anyone stressed / walking in during the ceremony. We are committed to starting precisely at 4:30pm. Non-Greeks - we trust you.
Yes - we will provide a bus from both hotels to the ceremony and then to the reception. Meet in the hotel lobbies at 3:20pm. Because folks will be leaving from the reception at various times, we recommend Lyft/Uber to get home. If you are staying at one of the hotels but not using the group rate, please let Michelle know so she can make sure you are provided the proper information (and also a welcome bag!) Please pay special attention to the departure times and be prepared to be onboard a few minutes early (Greeks, this means you).
Yes - there is plenty of free parking onsite at the Cathedral and at the Foundry.
When you enter the church property, drive to the downstairs parking lot by the school gym. There is a blue pavilion on the right side of the gym. Follow the posted signs.
We most certainly understand you may not be able to join us this weekend (and you will be missed!). If possible, we welcome you to pray with us during our ceremony which will be livestreamed at https://www.youtube.com/live/xYNYQMib8aU.
