Hi Everyone! We are SOO excited about our upcoming wedding! I think it's safe to say everyone is a little disappointed with where things stand with COVID-19 at this time. However, we will push on and hold our event! That being said, there have been some changes/updates: No Welcome Event- Initially, we had hoped our guests could fly in early and make a nice trip out of their stay. Unfortunately, COVID has really lowered the numbed of out of state guests. Most that are coming are flying out Friday Night and landing Saturday, so we have decided to not hold a formal welcome event. That being said, if you are in town and don't have plans Friday night, Please text or call Cali or Mike! We would be happy to meet up, show you around, or give some recommendations! 203-623-8486 (M) and 323-919-6070 (C) The ceremony and cocktail hour (weather permitting) will be outdoors. Dinner will be inside, and we will do our best to space out. If anyone does not feel comfortable with this, we totally understand and we are prepared for last-minute changes in plans. We don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable or obligated at all! So, you can make your decision up to the very end, and we will completely understand and think of you in spirit! (And possibly eat your food haha!) We encourage masks indoors except when eating/drinking. Also, I have to mention, if you are feeling sick, please do not attend for the safety of our friends and family. If you have had close contact with someone infected with COVID, please be sure to get tested prior to coming. We are not going to require testing or proof, this will be on the honor system. We know people with vaccines can still contract COVID, but the risk is much lower (as is the risk of serious illness, hospitalization, or worse). While the timing isn't perfect, we do think at some point, the show must go on. So, we hope you are safe, well, and willing to come celebrate with us!
We have updated the Travel, Things to Do, and Events pages for our wedding weekend! More updates to come as the event gets closer. Please don't hesitate to call or text Cali and Mike! (323-919-6070 and 203-623-8486 respectively)
Hi everyone! Hopefully your SECOND Save the Date has lead you here! We hope all of our friends, family, and loved ones have been safe and healthy thus far in 2021. After the heartache that was 2020, we are feeling optimistic about our big day this fall! The new date is 9/26/21, everything else is the same :) All COVID precautions and guidelines will be followed for our event. However, this past week, it was reported the US has been able to secure enough vaccinations for all adults in the country by the end of May, so we are hopeful to have a wedding that looks somewhat.... dare we say... NORMAL! We would LOVE to see you all there, happy, healthy, maskless, and ready to party! That being said, we do ask those who have not been vaccinated or previously infected (and recovered) to help protect our loved ones by wearing a mask. This will be on the honor system :) We know that many friends and family would have to travel from a far distance to make our wedding, and we completely understand if you can't make the trip for any number of reasons! We just wanted you to know how much you mean to us by inviting you, and we will have you there in our hearts and in spirit on our special day :) Feel free to search your name and RSVP right here on the site! You can text, call, or RSVP here on the site. Whether you can or can't make it, we really appreciate your response so we can begin to finalize all the details for the guests that can attend. Thank you so much! We absolutely CANNOT WAIT to see you all. You truly will be what makes our Wedding Day unbelievably special
We met while on lunch break at my job. I saw Cali in the hallway and thought, "Wow she's beautiful! And she looks lost! Let me go help her!" She didn't even look up at me when I helped guide her to her first appointment at Kaiser. After lunch, I returned to my normal unit. They asked if I could go help out another Module for awhile due to staffing. I went over and was instructed to help with Dr Hong's schedule. I open the door and call in, "Cali!" It was Her! When she came in, she immediately talked my ear off about how Cali was, in fact, short for California. Wow. A girl NAMED California?? That was the coolest thing ever, I thought. And from the very first moment, we talked and laughed and realized a few things. We both liked food, ice cream, and each other. We also realized we were neighbors, which is nearly impossible in Los Angeles. We exchanged info and the rest was history! 3 short, action-packed years later, I rented out our favorite movie theater, the Vintage Vista Theatre in Hollywood. I made a movie about how we met... and the unlikelihood of moving to California chasing my dream, and realizing what I've always known. True love is my dream. Her name just happened to be California :) Copy the link below and paste into your browser to see Part 1 of the Proposal movie "In Search of California" that debuted at the Vista Theatre in Hollywood! (Part 2 "The Reaction and Making Of" coming soon!). You may also find it by going to YouTube and entering "In Search of California" (in quotes!). It will be the first thing to pop up. https://youtu.be/3ZRjxxb1QrI
