Michael & Alexander's Engagement Party

FAQs

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

There is an abundance of options in the city and we do not have any particular recommendations. But, if you’re considering staying in the inner suburbs, we’d recommend Hoteloco in Eveleigh/Alexandria. This hotel is only about a year old and is quite lovely. Hoteloco is about a 20-minute drive to the engagement venue. The hotel sits next to the Locomotive precinct, with a supermarket, many cafés, restaurants, and bakeries right nearby. There are nice bars and pubs in the area as well. It’s also only a few minutes from Redfern Station, making it super easy to get to Central (Surry Hills and Haymarket) and the CBD including Darling Harbour and Circular Quay in no time. Given that it is a newer hotel, the boutique feel is reflected in cost per night... but if you're keen to be both close to the buzz of the city and the hum of the suburbs in beautiful area, Hoteloco is a convenient and lovely option. Note, most rooms are one-bedroom so not ideal for anyone who is more than a couple.

Question

What train lines should I be close to?

Answer

Anywhere on Sydney’s main train lines will work well, but ideally stay near stations on the T1, T2, T3, or T8 lines, which all connect easily to Central and Redfern—the key hubs for getting around. If you’re staying in the CBD, you won’t need to worry too much about lines—Central, Town Hall, Wynyard, and Circular Quay are all well connected. Getting around is very easy. The T8 Airport Line is especially convenient if you want easy airport access from the city as well. The T8 and the T4 will also get you to Erskineville from Central Station, most CBD stations, and Redfern Station.

Question

Should I stay on the North Side of the Harbour Bridge?

Answer

If you want to, yes! Areas like North Sydney, Milson's Point, and Kirribilli are stunning and well connected and easy to get around from. Trains run frequently across the Harbour Bridge into the city. Ubers/taxis also drive over the bridge or under the harbour in a tunnel. Just allow extra travel time, especially in the evening. Ferries can also be a nice option from some of these areas if you’re heading into the city.
