Where to Stay/Traveling/Rentals

The Wedding Website of Laura Mendez and Daniel Quinn
Lots of information in this tab! Traveling once in Puerto Rico: -Flying: We highly encourage you fly in, it's the easiest, fastest way to arrive to Vieques. -Ferry: A good, reliable option. This is the locals way of transit. Where to Stay: There are many hotels, boutique hotels and plenty of houses for short term rental (airbnb) available. Everything here is 15-20 minute drive away. Car Rentals: If you want to be able to move around the island, go to beaches and explore the towns you want to rent a car. You should book the car even before the hotel! Car rentals are limited in the island, we suggest you rent anything except a golf cart. Golf carts are slow, don't have any luggage space and are more dangerous than anything else. Car rentals provide Jeeps, Broncos, SUVs and compact KIA cars. With any of these you will be able to explore the island and all it has to offer. Refer to the information below for more detailed descriptions and links for some of the options.

Travel Note

Looking for Something More Affordable?

If the expenses are piling up and the lodgings are out of your price range look at these spots. They might be a little more affordable... Coco Loco: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/907912358908024380?source_impression_id=p3_1729570769_P3gv7-yeXfzeDE6v Owners are super friendly, have a couple of units available with multiple room options, I think they come with a kitchenette. Check for details in their Airbnb page. Esperanza Inn: https://esperanzainn.com/Accommodations.html You can book direct and avoid cleaning fees, and other fees. The rooms include mini fridge and access to communal kitchen. Trade Winds: https://tradewindsvieques.com/guest-house/ Cheaper rooms... but you get what you pay for. Most rooms are in a first floor and don’t have windows. Most rooms have access to communal terrace. Guayacan Guesthouse: https://www.guayacanguesthousevieques.com/en/studio-3-anacaona-garden-access-beachfront-property. Not fancy, BUT they are literally in the Malecon and right across the street from the ocean. Also, they are in the middle of the night life, restaurants and bars. They are fixing it up slowly. Prices/Availability for April are still not available. Amapola Beach Inn: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/22482130?source_impression_id=p3_1729570009_P3WlfpHymr79y2FB&check_in=2025-04-23&guests=2&adults=2&check_out=2025-04-27 ... they have a bunch of properties and rooms on the malecon. See the host profile. On airbnb, cute rooms and also right on the Malecon. They are located behind one of the restaurants. The rooms are cute and they have access to a comunal outdoor space.

Cape Air provides flights to Vieques from San Juan International Airport (SJU). This is the most expensive option, but often the most stress free since you will arrive to this airport from the states. Flights are 25 - 30minutes long and the planes are 8-10 seaters. Depending on the airline of your preference you might be able to book the flights at the same time. Make sure to leave time for connections.

Travel Note

The ferry is $2.00 (subject to change) for passengers and a little extra for luggage. Tickets and schedules are available on their website. The terminal is located about 1 hour and 30 minutes from San Juan depending on traffic.
