Go for a hike, swim, or paddle and enjoy this beautiful, pristine lake in Olympic National Park. The lake was formed by glaciers during the ice age and is the 6th largest lake in Washington and the 2nd deepest. Lake Crescent has many popular trails like: Spruce Railroad Trail, Devil's Punchbowl, Marymere Falls, and Storm King as well as many spots to swim or paddle. And it's really just stunning.
Take a scenic drive up to the lodge. Enjoy the expansive views and go for a hike or picnic. If you want to visit the Olympic Mountains and Olympic National Park this is the easiest way to do so!
Port Angeles is the gateway to Olympic National Park. If you have the time we suggest staying an extra day to explore the mountains, coastline, rainforests, lakes and much more that ONP has to offer!
Port Angeles is located just 18 miles across the straight of Juan De Fuca from Victoria, BC. If you have the time t stay an extra day or two take the Coho Ferry across and explore this beautiful historic city! There's plenty to see by foot and taking a car across is costly and may require a reservation so walking across is a great idea!
Nature and art are combined to make the most of this Trust funded, City owned facility and acreage devoted to the exhibition of and education about fine art. It's unique, quirky and highlights many amazing artists.
Downtown Port Angeles has some great shops: Port Book & News, Moss, and Brown's Outdoor to name a few as well as restaurants like First Street Haven and Next Door Gastropub and some great views of the strait to the north and the mountains to the south. If you have a few hours to walk around and check it out, we recommend doing so.
Olympic Discovery Trail is a walking, running and cycling trail extending from Port Townsend to the Pacific Ocean in La Push with no shortage of views of Olympic Mountains, ocean vistas, rivers, lakes, and forests. The trail is 130 miles long, but you can hop on anywhere to do just a few miles.
Swain's is an iconic Port Angeles general store, great for outdoor gear, shoes, housewares, popcorn, and pretty much everything else.
The best Fast Food around. Make sure you get the seasoned fries and a huckleberry milkshake with your burger.
If you go out to Lake Crescent or explore Olympic National Park you simply must stop at Granny's for a soft serve ice cream cone! The food is great, too, if you're hungry!
If you need a place to stop for snacks, produce, a great deli lunch, or soft serve yogurt Sunny Farms is the place to be! Melissa worked here as a cashier for a few years back in the day and highly recommends getting: fruit, salsa, deviled eggs, deli sandwiches, Naniamo bars, dark chocolate almond bark and a baby cone.
Head to downtown Port Angeles and down by the water and you can visit the Pier, Hollywood Beach and Feiro Marine Center. There's a fun playground for kids too.
If you need something to do on Friday night check out a Leftie's Baseball Game vs the Portland Pickles! The Lefties are in the West Coast League and have become very popular over the past few years! Games are played at Civic Field in Port Angeles (right across from the Dream Playground if you're coming with kids).
