Come celebrate with us!

We met the old fashioned way - on the internet. After a few weeks of chatting and coordinating schedules we finally met at a restaurant called Toledo. Chris (who grew up in Toledo, Ohio) thought it was a Spanish Tapas place but it turned out to be a Toledo, Ohio bar. We shared drinks, travel stories, mediocre nachos, and a kiss. We continued chatting and had a few dates over the next several weeks and then very suddenly just before summer rolled around went from casually hanging out to realizing we really wanted to be together. We had a wonderful summer of adventures enjoying Chris's new boat, camping & backpacking. The summer fun was spoiled only when Melissa got sick for a few weeks. Chris took such good care of her she realized he just might be the one. Once the summer ended we went to several weddings together, spent the holidays with each others families, went on a trip to Nicaragua together and spent lots of time together as we focused on building our future. We wanted to move in together but Chris was living on a 200 square foot boat which would not have been ideal for 2 people and a 60 pound dog! We started thinking about buying a house some day. We had pretty much the same wishlist for what we wanted in a home but weren't in a rush. A month or two later we found one that checked all of our boxes! Offers were due in 3 hours and there were 6 other offers on the table, so we decided to take a shot in the dark, Melissa quickly wrote up an offer and it was accepted! Not long after closing and getting settled we discovered that we were 9 months away from having a new tenant move in! Our first baby is due April 14, 2019! A few months later, on a beautiful hike to Barclay Lake, Chris proposed! With no time to squeeze in a big wedding before baby we eloped in Joshua Tree National Park. It was a wonderful whirlwind and we're so happy we had that day with just the two of us. But now we want to celebrate with our friends and family and let everyone meet baby Jensen!
