Make sure to plan ahead to have the most memorable Swiss trip with us!

Hotel

CERVO Mountain Resort

156 Riedweg
Zermatt, VS 3920, Switzerland
 +41 27 968 12 12

This is where the ceremony and reception will be held. Megan and Dylan will be staying here. There is a room block at Cervo Mountain Resort, so if you’d like to stay here please feel free to call the resort and let them know you are apart of the Woods/Hewlett wedding. You are welcome to stay here, but there are plenty of other amazing options in Zermatt at all price ranges! There are no bad places to stay in this charming little mountain town :)

Flight

Geneva or Zurich

Switzerland has two major international airports: Geneva and Zurich. Both are similar in price and distance from Zermatt, and both have great train options into Zermatt. We recommend booking your flight 4-5 months out, if you try to book too early, flights will be really overpriced. We always use google alerts to find the best deal on flights!

Train

Swiss Travel Pass

Switzerland is a dream for sustainable, easy travel. The Swiss pass (website linked below) is a pass that allows you to take any and all public transportation, including trains, ferries, cable cars, etc. for a designated amount of days at a fixed, flat price. This is our top recommendation for how to get around (cheapest, easiest, most memorable and sustainable)!

Shuttle

Shuttle from Airports to Cervo Mountain Resort

August 20, 2025 8:00 am

Cervo offers a shuttle directly to and from the Zurich and Geneva International Airports. If you are interested in this option, please reach out to Megan or Dylan directly.

Rental Car

Budget, Enterprise, Avis, etc.

You can find the normal rental car companies at both Geneva and Zurich airport. Dylan and Megan rented a car the last time they were in Switzerland. Driving in Switzerland is pretty intuitive, especially with Google or Apple maps. However, Zermatt is a car free city (sustainable!!), so you will have to leave your rental car in a covered parking garage at the train station in the village of Tasch where you will then catch a quick 15-minute shuttle train into the village of Zermatt. Buying tickets for the shuttle train is very simple and can be done on sight in the parking garage at a ticket kiosk.

Travel Note

Valid Passport

The "six-month rule" states that a passport should have at least six months of validity remaining (before expiration) from the date of entry or departure to an international destination. If you need to get a passport or renew your current one, current processing times are around 8 weeks, but we recommend starting as soon as possible. Megan will be doing this in November of 2024 as her passport expires in 2025 :)

Travel Note

ETIAS Travel Visa

Starting in mid 2025 American nationals MAY need to apply for travel authorization through the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) prior to arrival (subject to delay - yet again). This ETIAS waiver will be necessary to enter 30 European countries (including Switzerland). The ETIAS travel authorization is a simple application you need to fill out and most applications are processed within minutes. FYI - an approved ETIAS is valid for three years or until the travel document you provided (like your passport) expires. We recommend applying 2-4 months out (just to be safe!).
