HHI has over 12 miles of beach! Coligny Beach Park is a lively and fun time, great for relaxing, biking and running. This beach is close to restaurants, has a tiki bar, and has *free parking!* If you prefer beaches with more privacy and solitude, try Alder Lane Beach or Burke's Beach.
ꕤThe Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina is a lively spot for waterfront dining and shopping. Check out the Pirate's Island Adventure Adventure Golf here! ꕤColigny Plaza Shopping Center: Just a block away from the beach! Fun touristy shops to poke around. ꕤSea Pines & Harbor Town Resort Shopping: An iconic Hilton Head spot, with boutiques, galleries and gift shops by the lighthouse and boats. We love the po'boys at The Salty Dog! Just note, there is $9 cash gate fee to enter this community!
ꕤBIKING: Pretty much the whole island is connected by bike paths. There are several places for rentals, with Pedals Bicycles on Pope Ave to name just one. Just beware that cars actually have the right-of-way here! ꕤTENNIS & PICKEBALL: We know nothing about this, but my sister (thanks Caroline!), recommended Palmetto Dunes! Tennis and pickleball are super popular here. ꕤGOLF: Robert Trent Jones Golf Course (another shoutout to Caroline) is highly rated and has panoramic ocean views. ꕤRUNNING: Either the bike paths or the beach make for a super scenic run!
Here are some of our favorite places to eat and drink on the island: ꕤFor casual with ocean views: Tiki Hut, The Dune Hut ꕤFor patio, tasty drinks, and TVs: The Bank, One Hot Mama's BBQ, Zunzibar ꕤFor seafood dinner with marsh views: Hudson's, Skullcreek Boathouse, Old Oyster Factory ꕤFor brekkie: Sweet Al's Cafe, Carolina Coffee & Crumbs ꕤFor sweet treats: Milkshake Factory, plus so many other ice cream shops to choose from!
