Being only six months older than her, we practically grew up like twins—sharing similar names (though mine has the two "n's" at the end!) and spending every holiday receiving the same gifts, usually one in pink and one in purple. From birth to every family event and every birthday, we have been inseparable. My favorite part of our story is simply growing up together, but I’ll never forget the time you pushed me off the front porch at Memaw’s old house! You were so scared of getting into trouble that you refused to go inside afterward. Through all the family milestones, you’ve always been there, and having you as a bridesmaid is the perfect way to honor a lifetime of sisterhood.

My Bridesmaid, Melaina, is the kind of friend who was clearly destined to be in my life. Our story started at church, and my favorite memory is still the time at church camp when I couldn't resist the urge to push her into the lake with everything on. She was so mad, but it’s a moment we still laugh about today! Our bond truly cemented when I moved into her school district, and what began as childhood friends grew into a lifelong partnership as we navigated school, worked together, and set off on every crazy adventure imaginable. She has been by my side through every phase of life, and now, we’re entering the most exciting one yet. Since we are both engaged at the same time, she isn’t just my friend—she’s my fellow bride-to-be, and we are tackling engagement life side-by-side. Having her as my bridesmaid is the perfect way to continue our journey from church pews (and lake shores) to wedding aisles.

I’ll never forget the "crazy times" of COVID when she was on the phone with me while I cut off all my hair—even though my parents were adamant I shouldn't! Between the hair transformations and the countless hours I spent helping her clean her house so she wouldn’t get in trouble (we cleaned a lot), we’ve truly seen it all together. Now, she’s navigating a beautiful new chapter as a mom to a gorgeous little girl. Watching her and her partner, Nick—who has been my bestie since birth—take on life together and grow their little family has been such a joy. Having Mackenzie stand by my side as a bridesmaid feels so right as we continue to celebrate the lifelong bonds that brought us all together.

He is a naturally competitive and talented guy—whether he’s out on the course being a great golfer or absolutely kicking butt at pool, he brings a fun, high-energy spirit to everything he does. It didn't take long for him to go from "Mattilynn’s friend" to a true brother to both of us. Having him stand up there with us as a groomsman feels like the perfect way to kick off many more years of crazy adventures and friendly competition.

My favorite memories are the countless karaoke nights we’ve shared—no matter the day, time, or situation, she is always down for my shenanigans. I know I can count on her for anything. He is someone who is always looking for a new adventure and has an incredible drive to learn everything he can. Whether he’s diving into a new hobby or a "crazy" project, he’s the first to ask me for help as he navigates his way as a novice mechanic.
