Our story didn't begin in a ballroom, but on a dusty roadside under the summer sun. Mattilynn was driving with her friend Melania when she spotted a vision: Braden, working away with his shirt off and a white beanie on. Knowing his cousin Ethan through a mutual friend, Mattilynn knew she couldn’t just drive by. She made Melania pull a literal U-turn on fate. Mattilynn boldly walked up and asked for his Snapchat. Braden—never having been approached so confidently before—hesitated. He later confessed he simply didn’t know what to say! Since Mattilynn didn't even have an account of her own, the early days of their "courtship" happened entirely through Melania’s phone. The Intermission As it turns out, the timing wasn't quite right. Upon discovering Braden was already spoken for, Mattilynn closed that chapter, thinking their brief spark was a thing of the past. They went their separate ways, and the roadside encounter became a distant memory. A Twist of Fate at the Golden Arches A year and a half passed. Mattilynn took a new job at the local McDonald’s, never expecting her past to walk through the front door. But one afternoon, in walked Braden—not as a customer, but as the Shift Manager. Out of all the gin joints (or burger joints) in all the world, he walked into hers. They say you can’t outrun destiny. Seeing each other again felt like the universe giving them a second chance at the right time. We started dating shortly after, and as they say in the Great Gatsby, "And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer." The rest, as they say, is history.
