Welcome to our Ever After

Peter and Marissa met through a dating app in Seattle in the Spring of 2018. While Marissa "liked" Peter's photo first, she left it to Peter to strike up the opening conversation. They quickly decided to meet in person and landed on cocktails at Canon for their first date. Little did Marissa know that Peter was such a cocktail connoisseur... By the second round, Peter took the reins and proclaimed that they needed to both choose cocktails that were stirred, not shaken. If you ask Marissa, she will happily tell you that she has let Peter lead their cocktail adventures ever since that moment. She will also tell you that Peter is a great tipper...

After their first date, Peter went off to celebrate Spring Break with some friends and Marissa patiently waited for that second date. When he returned from the wilderness, they picked right back up and checked off dates 2 and 3- then it was her turn for adventure. Marissa spent the following two weeks in Italy with girlfriends living their Best Life. And while falling in love with all the beauty of Tuscany, she also was excitedly falling for Peter. Distance makes the heart grow fonder... When she returned, there was no turning back. She and Peter were inseparable.

Peter proposed on March 31, 2021, just shy of their 3 year anniversary. While enjoying their Spring Break, they vacationed to Fripp Island, where Peter grew up going each summer. Peter and Marissa had kicked off their vacation celebrating Peter's cousin's wedding, and little did Marissa know that he had been carrying her ring with him through the week. She did, however, notice that Peter had been a little absent minded the whole trip... On the day of the proposal, Peter and Marissa ventured to Hunting Island for a day of exploration. After transporting her to the magical setting, Peter chose the perfect spot to sit down and recount their tale of love and commitment. Peter has always "stolen" flowers for Marissa through their relationship, and he had one more to give. She happily accepted!

You may be asking yourself, "Why Ojai?" Peter and Marissa have family on both coasts, and they wanted to choose a place that felt meaningful to their story. Peter and Marissa first vacationed together July 2018 by driving the California Coast. Their last stop was in the magical town of Ojai-- nestled beneath the Topa Topa Mountains, whose name means "Valley of the Moon" in Chumash. It was their Love trip, and they can't wait to share the beauty of this small town with their loved ones.
