Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE)

The Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) is the nearest, most convenient, and often cheapest airport to fly into for the wedding. CLE is 7 minutes (4.4 miles) north of the Mehndi venue, 10 minutes (5 miles) west of the Nikkah ceremony location (Islamic Center of Cleveland), 15 minutes (12 miles) north of the bride’s family home, and 20 minutes (19 miles) north of the Nikkah reception.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

The Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the nearest, most convenient, and often cheapest airport to fly into for the Walima. LAX is 10 minutes (5 miles) south of the Walima venue and 20 minutes (9.5 miles) north of the groom’s family home, without traffic. However, traffic in LA can be quite heavy at times, so please take that into consideration when estimating travel times.

Rental Car

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE)

The Cleveland Hopkins International Airport’s rental car agencies are likely the best method of transportation during the shaadi weekend. Public transportation is limited. Uber/Lyft is available throughout Cleveland, but car rental would likely be the most economical (depending on how many trips you plan to take) and convenient (parking is not usually difficult to find in Cleveland) method of travel within the city.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Unfortunately, public transportation in Los Angeles is not very well conducive as an efficient or convenient method of transportation within the city. Given the intense traffic and parking challenges in Los Angeles, it may be more convenient to use Uber/Lyft when traveling during the Walima weekend than renting a vehicle. However, if rental car is required or preferred, the Los Angeles International Airport would be the most convenient location to rent a car for out of town arrivals.

Airbnb

If you are traveling with a big family or group, one of the most economical (and fun!) types of accommodation would be renting a home. Airbnb has a good selection of homes (if you’re a new member and would like a discount coupon, please let me know). If you are interested in staying close to the bride’s family home in Cleveland, look in the North Royalton (44133) or Strongsville areas (44136 or 44149). If you are interested in staying close to the groom’s family home in Los Angeles, look in the Redondo Beach (90277) or neighboring areas.

Best Western Airport Inn & Suites Cleveland

We have a 20-room block reserved (8 suites, 12 standard rooms). To make a reservation please call the hotel directly at 216-267-9364 and ask to make a reservation in the "Amir Vajid" block (***EDIT***: new block name) in August: Suites include 2 queen beds, 1 pull out sofa, and kitchenette @ $99/night (+taxes/fees). Standard rooms include 2 queen beds @ $89/night (+taxes/fees).

Hilton Los Angeles Airport

Given that only a limited number of our guests will be traveling to LA to attend the Walima reception, we did not reserve full block of rooms. Instead, we reserved a few rooms at the Hilton near LAX at a rate of $87/night (+taxes/fees) for SATURDAY to MONDAY only. Please note that parking at the hotel is $42/night if you will be having a car. If you are interested in one of these rooms, please let us know directly @ mariamandamirwedding@gmail.com.

Hollywood Inn Express LAX

For families who require more space, we also reserved a few rooms w/ 3 queen beds at the Hollywood Inn Express LAX for $135/night (+taxes/fees). This hotel also has rooms w/ 2 queen beds available for $112.50/night (+taxes/fees) as well. Parking at this hotel is $5/night so it may be a better option for those renting a car.
