While we are elated to finally have something to look forward to after a long two years, our first priority is everyone's health. We will postpone if that's what the health situation calls for, and will do our best to let everyone know as soon as possible if this is the case. We will be following all recommended guidelines from the local health authority. Some invited guests (elders, immuno-compromised folks, etc.) are more at-risk of getting sick than others, so we therefore ask that everyone does their part in helping to keep us all safe and healthy. If you have any symptoms of illness prior to the ceremony, we gratefully ask you to stay home. Please bring and be prepared to wear a mask when indoors and not eating. The ceremony will be held outside, rain or shine, and dinner will be inside a restaurant. The restaurant has plenty of doors and windows that we can open to increase ventilation, and also has an outdoor patio we're able to use. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns that aren't addressed here by sending us an email.
As soon as possible, but September 1, 2022 at the very latest. We can make changes to our dinner numbers before that date.
We definitely recommend renting a car to get to the ferry and then for travelling around the Sunshine Coast. While surprisingly not impossible to travel by public transit, the Coast's buses are infrequent. Please make sure to indicate whether you're looking for a ride when you RSVP so we can match you up with those who have extra seats. For more info and links to recommended transportation, please see the Travel page.
The Sunshine Coast has some great licensed B&Bs and decent hotels. Be sure to check out Airbnb for unique short-term rentals as well. We recommend finding a place to stay in Gibsons, Sechelt, or somewhere in-between (like Roberts Creek or Davis Bay) to be within a 30-minute drive of the ceremony and reception. If you'd like more specific recommendations, get in touch with us via email.

We know we're asking quite a lot of our guests in requesting that they travel for our ceremony, and that the pandemic has made finances much tighter in many cases. We have planned for being able to offer some help in this regard if needed. The most important thing is that we have our loved ones with us to celebrate together - everything else comes second! Please reach out to us via email if you'd like to chat more about this option and we'll be happy to discuss confidentially.
While we're not implementing a formal dress code, wearing something autumnal or neutral in colour would be lovely for photos! Ultimately, comfort is key and we encourage you to wear something that makes you feel and look good. Fall on the West Coast can be...wet. We recommend bringing a rain jacket, umbrella, and appropriate footwear (like rain boots - or "gumboots" as they say on the Coast!) just in case. The Pier is about 200m of small gravel and dirt, so we don't recommend heels but will leave that up to you to decide.
Yes! Roberts Creek Pier and Drift Café & Bistro both have free parking lots. Street parking is free on the Coast if needed too.
Maybe! Send us an email and we'll discuss your +1. Our preference is to keep the event as small as possible, but we may be able to make exceptions.
Saving for our future is our number one priority. Because of this, we are forgoing a registry and would appreciate a cash gift if you're able. Ultimately, you being there with us to celebrate is what's most important to us.
