4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Upon arrival, we ask that everyone gather on the mandala just before the pier. We'll all walk down to the end of the pier together led by our host, Salia Joseph, and our master of ceremonies, Daniel Justice. The pier is flat and about 200m of small gravel and dirt. Seats will be set up in a circular fashion and we ask that Elders, young ones, our parents, and our host are able to sit in the innermost part of the circle. In the spirit of inviting your participation in our ceremony, we would be grateful if at least one person from your party offered a few words to help start our next years together off in a good way. Daniel will indicate when the time has arrived for you to do so. Golden hour photos will follow the ceremony before leaving for dinner.
6:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Our reception dinner will take place shortly after the ceremony at Drift Cafe & Bistro in Gibsons, about a 15-minute drive from Roberts Creek Pier. There will be good food, music, dancing, and board/card games (bring your favourite if you're so inclined)! Wine will be included with your meal and other drinks can be purchased at the restaurant's cash bar. The restaurant has an outdoor deck we can use as well as plenty of doors and windows we can keep open to help with ventilation. Be sure to bring an extra layer in case it gets cold.
