We are very lucky to have nearly everything we need to begin our next chapter together. Please know that your presence on the day is more than enough, but for those who have expressed an interest, please consider donating to the charities listed below in lieu of a gift.
Kent County Animal Shelter
The "see registry button" is really a link to the shelter's donation page. I volunteer at the Kent County Animal Shelter in downtown Grand Rapids every week walking dogs. It was meant to be a way to keep from adopting a dog while in the apartment... It didn't work out like that and Daisy came to us from this shelter as an emergency foster on Thanksgiving Day 2020 and we officially adopted her on December 9th. She made lockdown so much brighter and has done the same everyday since. This shelter relies heavily on donations and, as a county shelter, is not permitted to turn away any animal due to lack of space or resources. The best way to help them is to donate resources so they are able to care for every single animal that comes through their doors and help them find their forever homes.
Feeding America West Michigan
I've been volunteering at a food pantry that works with Feeding America. They've always been a good source of items whenever we've run low and it has been awesome working with them in the community.
