Originally we had planed on going to Black Beach Inn for the reception. As of right now, we are planning on trying to make it work to stay at the homestead for the ceremony and reception. Please check back here closer to the date to have a confirmed plan.
The dress code is garden party formal. This is floral prints with a lot of bright spring/summer colors. For men it would be light colors or linen suits, no jeans. For women it is light pastels or floral prints at mid or floor length dresses or elevated jumpsuits. No all-white dresses. Be mindful that the wedding is right next to Lake Superior so the weather can be unpredictable. Watch the forecast and bring an extra jacket if needed. There will be some clear umbrellas provided at the ceremony if necessary.
You should book your hotel as soon as you know you are coming to the wedding. This weekend is also Grandma's Marathon weekend in Duluth so places book up fast. Please check the travel tab to see what hotel or campgrounds are in the area. We do have room blocks at Black Beach Inn and the American Inn.
In the early summer on the North Shore traffic can get heavy as Highway 61 is only a two-lane road from Two Harbors. It is also Grandma's Marathon weekend in Duluth, so traffic usually is stop/go in Duluth for hours. We recommend taking this time to come early on Friday and take a long weekend vacation, so we don't miss you at our ceremony.
We ask that you do not bring any dog or pet as we are looking forward to have our two dogs participating in the ceremony. We would like there to be no added distractions or potential bad interactions with other animals.
You can RSVP via our wedding website. Simply click on the RSVP tab, enter your name, and indicate your attendance. If you need any changes, please contact me directly at (218)370-8822.
Due to space constraints, we can only accommodate named guests on the invitation. We appreciate your understanding.

To keep our Norwegian history in the celebration we are having my grandma's famous fishcakes with tartar sauce and lemon. The alternative will be pulled pork/chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. We will also have buns to make sandwiches if that's more of your style. A strawberry and cashew salad will be on the side. We will also bring over any leftover venison sausage from cocktail hour for sandwiches. If you have any dietary concerns, please contact me directly at (218)370-8822 so we can better help to accommodate.
