Question

I've never been to a gay wedding before, are they different?I've never been to a gay wedding before, are they different?

Answer

Not particularly - unless you count better music and, hopefully, a slightly more enthusiastic dance floor. At the heart of it, it’s the same as any wedding: a group of people coming together to celebrate love. What is important to us is creating a weekend where everyone present can fully celebrate and support our marriage. You're all part of our story! We want it to be full of joy, openness, and people who can truly participate in the life we’re building together. If that doesn’t feel like a space you can fully step into, we completely understand - and will be grateful for your love sent from afar.

Question

May I bring a date?May I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says "and Guest" or a date is named, then yes. If not, we unfortunately cannot accommodate a plus one.

Question

May I bring my children?May I bring my children?

Answer

We love your families, and we truly want this weekend to feel like an adventure for everyone. Mackinac Island is such a magical place for kids, and we would never want to discourage anyone from bringing their children to experience everything that makes it so special. That said, due to the nature of our wedding day - including a plated dinner and strict per-person headcount for fire safety regulations - our wedding ceremony and reception will be adults-only, unless otherwise specified on your invitation. To help make travel easier, we will be offering limited on-site childcare on the wedding day. This care is intended primarily for families traveling longer distances who don’t have built-in childcare options. If you’re already in Michigan and have access to grandparents, family, or trusted sitters (including bringing someone along for the weekend), we kindly ask that you explore those options first so we can reserve childcare for those who truly need it. Our Welcome Night is exactly that - a welcome - and children are absolutely invited to join us then. We can’t wait to celebrate together, kids included, as we kick off the weekend. Thank you so much for understanding and helping us protect the flow of the wedding day while still making this a joyful, seamless, and memorable experience for everyone. More details about childcare logistics will be shared closer to the date, but in the meantime, if you know you will be in need of childcare, please let us know ASAP.

Question

Question
