If you still have any questions after looking through these FAQs, please reach out to Maddie at (541) 840-2986. Texting is prefered.
Question

COVID-19: Testing, travel, masking, etc.

Answer

We value your consideration of our at-risk guests before and when making the journey to Durango. Taking a test before you travel, as well as masking up during your trip would be greatly appreciated. We will not be requiring masks or social distancing. All activities, except for the ceremony and the reception will be held outside where social distancing is possible (the reception is outside but in a confined space so social distancing will be tough). I know we all have different views about COVID-19 and the various "do's and don'ts". With that said, let's all rally to be kind and do what we can to have a safe and COVID free gathering. If you have any other questions about COVID precautions etc. feel free to reach out to me (Maddie).

Question

How should we prepare for being at elevation

Answer

Being at higher elevations affects everyone differently. Most of the time people report shortness of breath, headache, and tiredness. There are oxygen canisters at most gas stations which have been known to be helpful to those feeling minor effects of elevation. However, true altitude sickness will feel like you have the flu and the only thing you can really do is go to a lower elevation. Dehydration: Durango has a very dry climate so remember to drink a lot of water and electrolytes throughout the day. Alcohol: Drinking alcohol at elevation is different than at lower elevations. If you are normally a 2 drink person, you might be a 1 drink person here in Durango. Take it slow and keep drinking fluids (the non-alcoholic kind). Here is an idea what evelvations you might find yourself at: - The town of Durango sits at about 6,500 feet - Wedding chapel is at 7,000 - The bike ride will summit at 10,640 - The summit of the hike is almost 13,000

Question

Should I attend the ride and hike the day before the wedding and the picnic the day of

Answer

These are of course all optional activities! We would love for you to be there but you are free to join us for any and all of these gatherings.

Question

Is there a hotel block we should know of when booking accommodations

Answer

Unfortunately no. We honestly found that it is cheaper to book through AirB&B. But hurry as things seems to be going quick.

Question

Where to park for the wedding

Answer

Across the street from the chapel

Question

Are babies and kids invited

Answer

YES! We just ask that if you have small kiddos that you take a seat near the back of the chapel during the ceremony. If your kiddo does become restless please step out for a moment to quiet them. The chapel is a small space and sound travels very well. Thank you <3

Question

What kind of food will be at the reception

Answer

We are using the food trucks at 11th St. Station, as a result the food depends on the trucks currently serving at this location. Our best guess is that the options will be various pizzas, salads, sliders, french fries, and rice bowls. Again, this is subject to change. Please let us know in your RSVP of any food allergies.

Question

Can I bring my pet to the wedding

Answer

I wish! But the venue for the reception will not allow pets. But please bring your furry friend to the soireé at our our house and the picnic! We also do not suggest bringing a dog on the hike as there is one technical section that you would have to carry your pet through.

For all the days along the way
