Yes! The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences is an all-inclusive resort, which means your stay includes food, drinks, and a wide variety of activities at no additional cost. We recommend bringing cash (USD) for tips, as it’s a wonderful way to show appreciation to the resort staff. Please note that certain amenities, such as spa services, may require an additional fee, but the vast majority of offerings are included with your stay.
The Fives Beach Hotel is highly rated for its dining options, featuring 11 restaurants with a wide variety of cuisines. From casual bites to fine dining, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Best of all, all food and drinks are included with your stay as part of the all-inclusive package. Please note that some restaurants require reservations in advance.
Gratuities aren't always included when you sit down for a meal, grab a drink, or participate in resort activities - we recommend bringing cash tips in U.S. dollars so you can give your appreciation for good service.
We recommend booking as soon as possible to ensure availability, but no later than August, 2026.
Instead of a traditional hotel block, we recommend booking directly through Priceline, Expedia, or other trusted travel sites. This option often provides lower rates than hotel blocks, while giving you the flexibility to choose the room that best suits your preferences and budget, from ocean-view suites to swim-up rooms, or even larger suites with hot tubs for groups wishing to share.
Yes! Guests are welcome to extend their trip before or after the wedding - we want everyone to make a vacation out of their stay if they can!
We recommend arriving at least two to three days before our Ceremony on Saturday, November 7th, 2026, so you can settle in and avoid travel delays.
Yes! The Fives Beach Hotel & Residences is a family-friendly resort. Please let us know how many children (under 18) plan to be at our ceremony and reception so we can plan accordingly for food, beverages, and table layouts. We want to be as inclusive as possible for our young family members and friends.
Yes, all U.S. and international guests will need a valid passport to enter Mexico. Make sure yours is up to date!
The closest airport is Cancún International Airport (CUN), about a 45-minute drive from Playa del Carmen. Please book your flights as soon as possible, but no later than October, 2026.
Uber and other rideshare services are not available at Cancún International Airport. The most reliable way to reach the resort is by booking a shuttle or private transfer in advance. We strongly recommend arranging transportation ahead of time to ensure a smooth arrival. Trusted service options will be listed on our Travel page. Because private transfers and shuttles can be pricey, we encourage guests to coordinate with one another and share rides when possible. Carpooling not only helps reduce costs but also makes for a fun start to the trip. Booking early is the best way to secure availability and the best rates.
Most places in Playa del Carmen accept major credit cards and U.S. dollars. However, American Express is not widely accepted, so we recommend bringing a Visa or MasterCard. Before traveling, check with your credit card company for any international fees or charges, and be sure to inform your bank that you’ll be traveling abroad to avoid any issues with card usage. It’s also a good idea to carry a small amount of cash in U.S. dollars for convenience.
Most carriers offer international plans - check with your provider before you travel. We recommend downloading WhatsApp so you have access to free messaging over Wi-Fi.
Playa del Carmen is a popular tourist destination in Mexico. Like anywhere, use normal travel precautions, stick to tourist areas, and drink bottled/ filtered water.
Our wedding will be at The Fives Beach Hotel & Residences in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, at a venue on the beach.
The Ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. EST, so please plan to arrive at least 20 minutes early. If you are traveling from a different resort or hotel in the area, please plan accordingly.
Our ceremony and reception will be on/near the beach. Think “beach formal”: light fabrics, cocktail dresses, linen suits, sandals or wedges (avoid stilettos in the sand!).
The ceremony will be outdoors, with the reception nearby. Please keep in mind the warm weather and pack accordingly. In case of inclement weather, we have an indoor ceremony and reception space. We will decide on the day of the wedding if we need to move indoors due to the weather.
We recommend bringing a pair of flip-flops/ beach shoes for your stay, but we would prefer for guests to wear sandals, wedges, or loafers to the ceremony.
Yes! A full dinner and open bar will be provided at the reception. If you have dietary restrictions, please let us know when you RSVP.
Yes! We will have a dance floor on the beach, and we will be "dancing in the moonlight" until the resort's quiet hours begin around 11 p.m.
While we would love for everyone to bring a plus-one, we have a limited capacity for the wedding ceremony and reception. Feel free to text Maddy/Max if you have any questions. We will be able to decide closer to the wedding date what our current capacity is, and can open it to additional family and friends.
We would love for everyone to capture and share additional photos before and after the ceremony - your memories mean so much to us! Please note that a professional photographer will be present during the ceremony itself. To help them do their best work and to maintain the atmosphere, we kindly ask that all guests refrain from using cell phones or cameras during that time.
Playa del Carmen in November is warm (mid-70s to mid-80s °F) and humid. Nights are usually comfortable, but it’s best to bring light layers.
In addition to your wedding attire, we suggest: sunscreen, bug spray, sunglasses, swimwear, and comfortable sandals.
We highly recommend drinking bottled or filtered water during your stay. The hotel will provide filtered water for guests.
Please reach out to Maddy/Max or our parents! Do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions!
Please RSVP no later than Monday, August 3rd, 2026. As we are coordinating closely with the resort’s planning team to finalize reception details, a confirmed headcount is required by mid-August. We appreciate your timely response and look forward to celebrating together.
