Photos Through the Years

We took this photo on October 17, 2017, the night we started "hanging out." If only we could go back in time and tell them what all was to come!

January 2018. We took this on the night we said, "I love you" for the first time. It was one of those nights that changes everything. It was the start of a serious relationship!

Beginning of Spring Semester, Sophomore year of college. February 2018. This was the first photo we posted on our socials, a few months after making it official!

Kappa Bid Day, 2018. It meant so much to Maddie that Ed showed up that day. He took photos with all the Kappa's and helped us celebrate the new members.

Spring Break, 2018. Us and about 15 other college friends rented a beach house and spent the week there. It was our first "trip" together, and we spent the week playing "Mom and Dad" for our friends!

April 2018, our first of many formals together. It was always a given that we were one another's dates. Probably our favorite memories from college. We've always loved to dance the night away.

The end of Sophomore year, 2018. We both lived on Greek row in our Fraternity/Sorority house, 2 homes away from one another. The ending of this year was a bittersweet one.

August 2018, beginning of Junior year. We've always been each others biggest cheerleader.

In November of 2018, Maddie went overseas for the first time ever to visit Ed while he was studying abroad in Reading, UK. Here we are on the streets of Amsterdam. It was such an amazing trip!

Kappa bid day, 2019. Ed was a full-blown "Fleur-dis-He" at this point, and one of the most beloved boys among Maddie's sorority.

Valentine's Day, 2019. Maddie made Ed “match”with her, which started a ritual that has spanned over 6 years. We love to color coordinate with each other whenever we attend special events.

Kappa Krush, March 2019. We may not remember the theme, but we remember how cool we looked and felt that night!

April 2019, Maddie's 21st birthday party. Ed and her best friend, Peyton, threw her party at her on-campus apartment.

Ed's 22nd birthday, July 2019. We went to Forecastle Festival with Ed's twin sister, Emma, and a group of college friends.

September 2019. Ed had taken the annual Kappa photoshoot. Maddie was preparing to study abroad for a semester in Strasbourg, France. We matched, so of course we had to take a pic!

Winter 2019. After 3 long months apart, we got to spend quality time together on a winter retreat in Berea, Kentucky. We came up with our own version of Scrabble where we made up the words we played!

January 2020. Maddie came back from France with a new style, and had a lot of fun picking out outfits for her and Ed.

October 25, 2020. Maddie's first night in her apartment after moving to Louisville. Ed came over and helped unpack. We would make so many fun memories there over the next 3 years.

August 2021. We spent the weekend at New River Gorge in West Virginia. We hiked the Gorge, and swam at Sandstorm Falls. It was our first big trip together after college, and it was a blast!

Celebrating our 4 year anniversary in October 2021. We walked among the flowers at the Parklands and ate amazing German food at Gausthaus (RIP).

Spring 2022. Roller-skating at George Rogers Park in Louisville. A hobby that was picked up during COVID turned into a fun passion we could share together.

In June 2022, we went on a beach trip with Ed's family to Charleston, North Carolina. With the whole Boomershine clan + spouses in attendance, we realized how much we love being with this crew.

Summer 2022. The majority of that summer was spent having picnics at Willow Park, while Ed and his band wrote and produced their first album.

September 2022, celebrating the wedding of our friends Chloe and Kyle. Maddie included this photo because she thought we looked GOOD.

Celebrating our 5 year anniversary at the Big Stomp festival, October 2022. We scored VIP tickets and ate all the snacks in the artist lounge. Here we are seeing Creed Bratton live!

November 2022. Maddie helped to organize a Friendsgiving Potluck at the Inner Warrior Yoga studio for the community after completing her Yoga teacher training earlier in the year!

Spring 2023, outside of Toasty's Tavern, home to the best burger in Louisville. During this year, we would walk there for lunch every Sunday afternoon.

June 2023, the wedding of Ed's younger sister, Phoebe. The first of the Boomershine children to get married. We told each other that night that we wanted to be together forever.

Introducing Juniper (right) and Cricket (left). Adopted on July 4, 2023, at 2 months old. We got them on our 3rd day living together!

Christmas 2023, with the whole Boomershine clan in Ed’s hometown, Batavia, Illinois. One of the most special holidays we have shared.

Valentine's Day, 2024. We spent the weekend at Cumberland Falls, Kentucky. We hiked 12 miles in 2 days, visiting 6 waterfalls in the area. Probably the most adventurous thing we've done (so far)!

Earth day weekend, April 2024. We celebrated by camping at Red River Gorge, along with our closest friends. We hiked at Creation Falls, did morning yoga, and ate delicious camp meals!

Outside preparing our garden, May 2024. Our friend Tiffany came over and helped us build beds. We walked to Toasty's for dinner afterwards. We ended up with a lot of zinnia's and tomatoes that year!

A special moment shared between us at the wedding of Ed's twin sister, Emma, in June 2024. After all these years together, we still look at each other like it's the first time.

July 2024. We got our aura portrait taken together. The photographer said we were a "creative, connected, and energetic couple"...he wasn't wrong!

August 2024, visiting Yayoi Kusama's exhibit at The Speed Art Museum.

Fall 2024. For the past 2 years, it’s become a Saturday morning ritual to go to the farmer’s market. Getting to know all our local farmers and form connections with them has been such a blessing!

October 27, 2024. A week after our 7 year anniversary, we got ENGAGED! Ed took Maddie on a hike at Otter Creek Park outside of Louisville and popped the question at the overlook!

In November of 2024, we had the honor of photographing the wedding of Maddie's best friend, Paige. It was a week after we had gotten engaged. Love was in the air!

Valentine's Day, 2025. We went to Hocking Hills, Ohio, where it rained the entire time. The ground was pure ice, and we spent more time slipping and sliding on it than we did hiking.
