The story of Patrick and Leah began in the fall of 2010. This was freshman year at the University of Miami for the class of 2014. Patrick was introduced to Leah on the slider benches near to freshman dorms. It was friendship at first sight! They remained friends for 2 years. Then during the summer before Junior year... a wild relationship appeared! (That is a Pokémon joke for those that do not play). Patrick and Leah quickly realized they had a lot in common, such as: trying new foods, watching anime, playing video games, a love of animals, and the sweetness of doing nothing together. After some time they moved into an apartment together on Miracle Mile in Miami. In May of 2014 Patrick graduated with a computer science degree and Leah graduated with a biomedical engineering degree. They found jobs in Miami after graduating and continued to live near Miracle Mile. Leah realized that Miami was a tough job market for her. Luckily she was accepted to the Master of Engineering program at Duke University. Patrick promised to go wherever Leah needed. In the summer of 2016 they packed up their things, plus their hairless cat Dmitri, and moved to Durham. Leah graduated from her masters program in December of 2017. They both started promising careers in the NC Triangle area. Then, in October of 2019, they took a special trip to Mallorca, Spain. While they were exploring the Torre de Serral del Falcons, Patrick surprised Leah with a question and a special ring. The answer was “Yes of course!”. After nine years together they are excited to be married. Since the proposal, they have been planning for a very special day that will happen on March 19th, 2022.
