FAQs

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! This is an adults-only event.

Question

Can I bring a guest/date?

Answer

Please check the envelope of your personal save-the-date or formal invitation for mention of an additional guest. If you were not given a plus one, please just bring yourself.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is formal. We suggest men wear any color suit and tie and women wear a tea-length, midi, or full-length dress or elegant jumpsuit. We kindly ask the Ladies to refrain from wearing white, ivory, or cream color attire.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The wedding will be outdoors on a stone patio, weather permitting. Cocktail hour will be both indoors and outdoors – the option is yours. The reception will be primarily indoors, with an outdoor option after dinner.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

We hope it will be beautiful weather for our wedding! May in Leesburg, VA, is typically daytime highs 70-80°F, nighttime lows 50-60°F, and tolerable humidity.

Question

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

Answer

Any dress shoes are fine, but maybe bring a pair you can dance in! There will be a live band.

Question

What time should I arrive to the wedding ceremony?

Answer

We recommend you arrive 15-30 minutes before the ceremony start time so you can get settled before the proceedings. Guests who arrive late will not be permitted in until after the processional and will be seated in the back.

Question

May I take photos or videos during the wedding ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask you to please turn off all cell phones and cameras until after the recessional. We invite you to relax and be present for the special moments of our ceremony with us. Once the wedding reception begins, you are welcome to take as many photos and videos as you would like. However, we kindly ask you to respect and be mindful of the professional photographers and videographers we have hired, especially during the special moments of our reception such as our first dance and speeches. We have an amazing photography and videography team you will love, and we'll gladly share these images and videos with you after the celebration.

Question

Will there be transportation to and from the ceremony & reception location?

Answer

Yes, we'll have shuttles to & from the primary hotel blocks on Saturday. More details to come!

Question

Will there be parking available at the ceremony & reception location?

Answer

Yes, Raspberry Plain Manor has 98 guest spaces (marked & unmarked) and 4 handicap spaces. If you choose to drive and then are unable to drive safely home, you may leave your car overnight and retrieve it the next morning.

Question

Will there be transportation to and from the welcome event and/or Mother's Day brunch?

Answer

No, we will not be providing transportation for these events. Lansdowne Resorts offers free self-parking or you can try using Uber, Lyft, or a cab service.

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

If you're flying in for the wedding and want to explore beyond walking distance of your hotel accommodations and the wedding venue, we highly recommend renting a car. There are multiple car rental options at the airports.

Question

Which wedding reception meal entrée option should I choose?

Answer

The chicken, beef, and salmon options are all good. It really comes down to your personal preference – you can't go wrong! The chicken option is chicken marsala. The beef option is beef shoulder with demi-glace sauce. The salmon option is salmon cooked in a pink champagne sauce (chef's specialty). If you are vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, have any food allergies, or have any other dietary restrictions, please let us know on the response card included with your invitation.
