Things To Do

Orcas Island Farmer's Market

Eastsound, WA 98245

Saturday's from 10am-2pm, this market is in downtown Eastsound and features jewelry, pottery, clothing, and baked goods from local artists/artisans.

Orcas Island Artworks

11 Point Lawrence Road, Olga, WA 98279

A lovely art gallery where you can see the works of a number of different artists that reside on the island.

Moran State Park

3572 Olga Road, Olga, WA 98279
, (360) 376-2326

Some must-see stops include: - Cascade Lake - Mount Constitution (hike or drive to the highest point in the San Juans)

Turtleback Mountain Preserve

Eastsound, WA 98245

You can find some of the best views of the surrounding islands here. We'd recommend parking at the South Trailhead, which is about a 15 minute drive from Eastsound.

Obstruction Pass State Park

860 Trailhead Road, Olga, WA 98279

This is another fantastic option for a day hike. A 22 minute drive takes you to one of the more remote parts of the island. From there you hike about 1/2 hour through the forest until you arrive at a gorgeous beach and campsite.

Breakfast Recommendations

There are many excellent restaurants on the island! Here are a few of our favorites: DOE BAY CAFE Set on a beautiful bay on the far eastern side of the island about 25 minutes from Eastsound, this café is known for their use of organic, farm-to-table ingredients to create classic breakfast dishes. NEW LEAF CAFE @ THE OUTLOOK INN Grab a seat on the patio overlooking the water and prepare yourself for a feast of brunch classics. They are particularly known for their eggs benedict.

Lunch Recommendations

BUCK BAY SHELLFISH FARM 15 minutes southeast of Eastsound, this is going to be the best place to get a sample of all the local seafood that the San Juan Islands have to offer. The oysters are excellent, as are their hot dishes such as shrimp tacos and crab mac n’ cheese.

Dinner Recommendations

MATIA Named one of the 50 best restaurants in the country by the NY Times this year, it’s hard to beat the flavors here. This is one of Jake and Lucy’s favorite restaurants anywhere. Seriously, it’s that good. Despite all the accolades this restaurant has retained it’s “island casual” vibe. (Reservations Required) HOULME Formerly known as Hogstone, this place is all about wood-fired pizza, small plates, and wine/beer. The restaurant is slowly reopening after being carryout-only during the pandemic. Reservations should be available by the end of June and are recommended. MIJITAS Casual, delicious Mexican food that is conveniently located in downtown Eastsound. MATTHEW'S SMOKEHOUSE A 20 minute drive from Eastsound to the western side of the island, this is delicious BBQ worthy of the trip. Featuring a huge patio with lawn games and a fire pit, this place is perfect for the whole family.
