It was an average weekday after school in the 4th grade when Allie showed up on my doorstep. The specifics as to how she new where I lived escape me as I write this. I had just moved to the neighborhood and started at a new school. Allie and I quickly realized that we went to the same school and lived at opposite ends of the same canal. As the years went on, we became inseparable. From swimming to each others houses, AOL instant messaging and skyping until the wee hours of the night, and all sorts of other mischief in the later years. Allie is the closest thing that I have ever had to a sister. She and I have watched each other grow and change over the years through hard times and good. Despite the distance between us and the trials and tribulations of adulting - Allie has always been there. We joke about being soul sisters, but I truly believe that we were meant to meet in this life.

Patrick Duggan

Best Man

I met Patrick on some early morning during our freshman year in high school, probably during Mr. Cook's US government class. Through our shared classes, I saw a person who shared a similar taste in music and a love of history. It was not long after hanging out together outside of school that I told Patrick: "I think we're going to become good friends." That prediction came true, spending our times making and listening to music, playing video games, discussing history and politics, and driving around Cape Coma looking for stuff to do and people to visit. We shared many adventures and a great group of friends that endured throughout high school and eventually into college at UF. Although time, distance, and life events have kept us personally apart since college, we are always able to chat and catch up like no time has gone by. I am both proud and honored to call Patrick one of my very best friends, a brother by choice, ever true and steadfast.
