Maid of Honor
Jasmine is my cousin, but I have always thought of Jasmine as more of a sister. Jasmine is younger than me, but at times, I have found that she is the wiser one. She is my voice of reason and my confidant. Jasmine was my first best friend and I have so many found memories with her. She grounds me and makes me laugh. Jasmine es mi prima, pero siempre he pensado en Jasmine más como una hermana. Jasmine es más joven que yo, pero a veces he descubierto que ella es la más sabia. Es mi voz de la razón y mi confidente. My best friend. Man, what can’t I say about this dude; extremely driven, dedicated to his family and friends, and one of the smartest people I know (also a giant goofball). But I’d say the thing that speaks to his character the most is his loyalty. He’s definitely the guy I call when I find myself in a sticky situation, or when I just need some advice. Through thick and thin he has always had my back, and I’ll always have his. Mi mejor amigo. Hombre, qué no puedo decir de este tipo; extremadamente motivado, dedicado a su familia y amigos, y una de las personas más inteligentes que conozco (también un gran payaso). Pero diría que lo que más habla de su carácter es su lealtad. Es la persona a la que llamo cuando me encuentro en una situación complicada o cuando necesito consejo. Marissa is my best friend. We met in college. I found my equal in a bright and determined individual. She helped me out of my shell and made me realize my worth. She is so caring. She goes above and beyond for those she loves. And because of that, I wouldn't want to get married without her. She helps me in ways I didn’t even know I needed help with. She is a life long friend to whom I am forever grateful. Marissa es mi mejor amiga. Nos conocimos en la universidad. Encontré a mi igual en una persona brillante y determinada. Me ayudó a salir de mi cáscara y me hizo darme cuenta de mi valor. Es muy cariñosa. Va más allá por aquellos a los que quiere. Y por eso, no querría casarme sin ella. One of the funniest and most outgoing guys I’ve ever met. I love being around him because no matter what I have going on, he’s always gonna do something that makes me smile and I appreciate him so much for that. We met through Lisset, and getting to know him over the past few years and getting closer with him has been such a pleasure. And seeing as our ladies are basically soulmates, I know we’re gonna have each other for life! Uno de los chicos más divertidos y extrovertidos que he conocido. Me encanta estar cerca de él porque no importa lo que me pase, siempre va a hacer algo que me haga sonreír y le aprecio mucho por eso. Nos conocimos a través de Lisset, y ha sido un placer llegar a conocerlo y acercarme a él en los últimos años. Y como nuestras damas son básicamente almas gemelas, ¡sé que nos tendremos el uno al otro de por vida!

Juanita has one of the biggest personalities in the room. She is so funny and unapologetically herself. She is one of my first best friends in life. She is one of my older girl cousins who I looked up to as a little girl. I strive to achieve her sassiness and sureness. The love and care she shows others is incomparable. She is there when I need her. She has taught me more than I think she realizes. I couldn't get married to the one without her. Juanita tiene una de las mayores personalidades en la habitación. Es muy divertida y ella misma sin disculparse. Es una de mis primeras mejores amigas en la vida. Es una de mis primas mayores a la que admiraba de pequeña. Me esfuerzo por alcanzar su descaro y seguridad. El amor y el cariño que muestra a los demás es incomparable. Está ahí cuando la necesito. Me ha enseñado más de lo que creo que se da cuenta. My future brother-in-law (well one of three, shout out Isaiah and Jeremiah!) Fun fact about Xavier (other than we share the same name) is that we actually go back almost as far as me & Lisset! All the way back to middle school tennis. One of the hardest workers I know, the grind don’t stop! He inspires me to make things happen in my own life, seeing how much he has accomplished at his age. I’m so thankful that we have gotten closer over the past few years and me & sis are so blessed to have you and the boys in our lives. Mi futuro cuñado (bueno, uno de los tres, ¡saludos Isaías y Jeremías!) Un dato curioso sobre Xavier (aparte de que compartimos el mismo nombre) es que en realidad nos conocemos desde hace casi tanto tiempo como Lisset y yo. Todo hasta regreso a la escuela secundaria de tenis. Uno de los trabajadores más duros que conozco, no para de trabajar. Me inspira a hacer que las cosas sucedan en mi propia vida, viendo lo mucho que ha logrado a su edad. Estoy muy agradecido de que nos hemos acercado en los últimos años y yo y tu hermana somos tan bendecidos de tenerte a ti y a los niños en nuestras vidas.

Chyanne is my childhood friend. Our families are intertwined. We are all friends with one another. She is more like family. Chyanne is so sweet and caring. She even choose a profession that highlights these characteristics in her. Her heart is enormous. She is fun and sassy. And I love her laugh. No matter where life takes us, we are always there for one another - just a phone call away. Chyanne es mi amiga de la infancia. Nuestras familias están interconectadas. Somos amigos los unos de los otros. Ella es más como de la familia. Chyanne es muy dulce y cariñosa. Incluso eligió una profesión que resalta estas características en ella. Su corazón es enorme. Es divertida y atrevida. Y me encanta su risa. No importa dónde nos lleve la vida, siempre estamos ahí el uno para el otro, con una simple llamada de distancia.

My brother in Christ right here. One of the most genuine and down to earth guys that I’ve ever had the pleasure of calling my friend. I have to be careful getting on the phone with him because we could literally just talk about anything for hours. We go back years, I can think all the way back to playing little league baseball with him and it is such an honor to see him as the man he is today. A fun fact about him is that he actually played a roll in Lisset and I’s love story, being the mutual friend that her and I reconnected through after so many years and for that I could never thank him enough. Mi hermano en Cristo. Uno de los tipos más genuinos y con los pies en la tierra al que he tenido el placer de llamar amigo. Tengo que tener cuidado al hablar por teléfono con él porque literalmente podríamos hablar de cualquier cosa por horas. Nos conocemos desde hace años, desde que jugábamos al béisbol en las ligas menores, y es un honor verle convertido en el hombre que es hoy. Un hecho divertido sobre él es que en realidad jugó una parte en la historia de amor de Lisset y yo, siendo el amigo mutuo a través del cual ella y yo nos reconectamos después de tantos años y por eso nunca podré agradecerle lo suficiente.

Bri is the girl you call when you are down and out. She will pick you back up. She helps you see the good and offers you tools to make it through. Oh, and she has the cutest beauty mark. Guess that makes us beauty mark twins. She is a no non-sense girl who truly cares, and that’s why I keep her around! Bri es la chica a la que llamas cuando estás desanimado. Ella te levantará. Te ayuda a ver lo bueno y te ofrece herramientas para salir adelante. Oh, y tiene el lunar más bonito. Supongo que eso nos convierte en gemelas. Es una chica que no se anda con tonterías y a la que le importas de verdad, ¡y por eso la tengo a mi lado!

My day one right here! Legitimately one of my first and oldest friends. If I ever need a pick-me-up or just want to get out and have a good time this guy is my go-to. Any amount of time could go by and we could sit down and it’s like we haven’t missed a beat. One of my biggest advocates & supporters, and just an all around great person. I couldn’t imagine my big day without him by my side. ¡Desde día 1 aquí mismo! Uno de mis primeros y más antiguos amigo. Si alguna vez necesito un poco de ánimo o simplemente quiero salir y pasar un buen rato este tipo es mi primer opción. Puede pasar cualquier cantidad de tiempo y podemos sentarnos y es como si no hubiéramos perdido el ritmo. Uno de mis mayores apoyadores y soportes, y sólo una gran persona en general. No podría imaginar mi gran día sin él a mi lado.

She is someone I have grown closer to over the years and I am excited that she will be a part of my big day. She is creative, loving, and caring. She is sure to help make this a day to remember! My guy right here! Another buddy that came into my life through Lisset and I’m so glad he did because I connected with him right away. He’s super genuine, kind, well spoken, and has THE best taste in music, and this is not up for debate! Anytime we get together I know we’re gonna have a deep and meaningful conversation, and I appreciate that even if we have a difference of opinion, we still respect & understand each other. I’m honored to call him my friend. ¡Mi chico aquí! Otro amigo que llegó a mi vida a través de Lisset y estoy tan contenta de que lo hiciera porque conecté con él de inmediato. Rocki is someone I grew up with. She has the cool, unconventional name. I love introducing new people to her. All who meet her agree. She is so funny and loving. Her laugh is infectious, and she can pull off hats like no other. She shares the value of family with me and knows what it is like to be one of many siblings. Because we share this value, it has kept us bonded. Not to mention she is the greatest hype women alive! I can only hope to be that for her. Naturally, she had to be part of this big day! Rocki es alguien con quien crecí. Tiene un nombre genial y poco convencional. Me encanta presentársela a la gente nueva. Todos los que la conocen están de acuerdo. Es muy divertida y cariñosa. My first friend, my role model and well… MY BIG BROTHER! There aren’t enough words to describe how much of an impact he has had on my life. He is the best athlete I’ve ever known and a huge motivator for me growing up because coaches and teachers would say “oh you’re Ogando’s brother?” And the expectation after that was greatness. Seeing you transition from sports & school to becoming a father and a provider has laid the groundwork for the type of man I want to be. Your presence in my life has taught me that I can achieve anything in life I set my mind too as long as I work hard enough. Mi primer amigo, mi modelo a seguir y bueno... ¡MI HERMANO MAYOR! No hay palabras suficientes para describir el impacto que ha tenido en mi vida. Es el mejor atleta que he conocido y un gran motivador para mí mientras crecía porque los entrenadores y maestros decían "oh, ¿eres el hermano de Ogando?". Y la expectativa después de eso era la grandeza. Verte pasar de los deportes y la escuela a convertirte en padre y proveedor ha sentado las bases para el tipo de hombre que quiero ser. Tu presencia en mi vida me ha enseñado que puedo conseguir cualquier cosa que me proponga en la vida siempre que me esfuerce lo necesario.
