If you have any questions other than what we've listed here, please text or call Lindsey (prior to the wedding weekend) at 740-403-8896.
Question

What Are Some Things We Should Remember To Bring?

Answer

1-Sunglasses! The venue is at the top of a hill in the woods, and the ceremony is outside. It'll (hopefully) be bright and sunny, so bring those shades. Maybe sunscreen and bug spray too if you want. If the weather forecast calls for rain, you might want to bring an umbrella (knock on wood this isn't the case). 2-Comfy shoes for dancing, duh! While heels and dress shoes look nice for pictures, after those are done, we want people to be comfy to party and dance the night away (plus there are A LOT of stairs, uneven surfaces and gravel). Seriously, you might want to rethink stilettos! 3-A light jacket or sweater for the evening. Maybe even some sweatpants. Early June can still get chilly when the sun goes down, so feel free to bring warm and comfy clothes to finish off the night. Heck, the bride might switch to a hoodie and leggings for the last bit of dancing. Comfort is key, and we just want to have fun with our favorite people after all the pictures and formalities. Bonus points for creative/themed comfy clothes that relate in some funny way to the Bride and/or Groom.

Question

Is It An Open Bar?

Answer

YESSSSSS! We are ready to #PartyLikeAParsons with you! The drinks are covered by us, but the hangover's on you :) Feel free to bring some cash to tip the bartenders as you see fit & your ID (the bartenders will ask to see it). There will also be non-alcoholic beverages available!

Question

Learn These Dances To Help Us Fill The Dance Floor!

Answer

1-Cupid Shuffle by Cupid (step-by-step video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAevbmcwdS4) 2-The Git Up by Blanco Brown (step-by-step video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76IAnVEwT5Q) 3-Fancy Like by Walker Hayes (step-by-step video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MD4QWgACEys) 4-Cha Cha Slide by DJ Casper (aka The Casper Slide) (the song literally tells you what to do)

Question

Request A Song!

Answer

While we have a DJ, all music has to be pre-downloaded due to the venue not having wifi. If there is a song you would like to request, please text it to Lindsey at 740-403-8896 with the song Title, Artist and time duration (so we make sure we get the correct version). Please have your requests in by the end of April, and keep in mind that we are not censoring music.

Question

Can I Bring A Date?

Answer

If your invitation says "and Plus One," then yes, if not, then it is just for the name(s) listed on the invite. While we normally believe in the saying, "the more, the merrier," and we would ideally want everyone to be there, we had to be very selective due to venue capacity and budget limits. It's nothing personal, and trust us, it was hard having a max capacity limit! We thank you for your understanding!

Question

Are Kids Invited?

Answer

We love your kids, but we want our wedding to be your night off! This is a big adults-only party, and it won't be suited to children (alcohol, uncensored music, etc.). The venue is also not the most kid-friendly environment (lots of stairs, lots of heights, woods/steep valley, etc.) and the nearest hospital is over an hour away. We ask that you arrange for a babysitter. We understand that family traveling from over 6 hours away might have some difficulties with this request. For that family traveling from so far away, if you cannot get someone to watch your children, please call Lindsey (740-403-8896), and we will try to accommodate you. We know this is a hard ask and want you there.

Question

What’s The Dress Code?

Answer

Cocktail, please. This is mostly for the ceremony and pictures. We want you to feel comfortable for dancing, so feel free to bring a change of shoes and some comfier clothes for the later evening shenanigans.

Question

What's For Dinner?

Answer

Hank's Texas BBQ (Brisket or Pulled Pork, Buns, Strawberry Almond Salad, Mac & Cheese, Corn Bread, Green Beans) They are located off North High Street in Columbus. Matt & I had a wonderful tasting with them and everything was delicious! Their sauces (Hank's Texas BBQ, Peach Habanero BBQ, Hank's White BBQ, Carolina Mustard) were all amazing!

Question

Extra FUN!

Answer

-Make sure to get a picture in front of our homemade flower wall! -There will be cornhole available to play on the side of the venue -There will be an oversized Connect 4 game set up as well -At the venue we will have a small campfire & evening s'mores as a late night treat -Instead of a 'Grand Exit' we are having a final dance where everyone will surround the Bride & Groom and dance out to Bruno Mars' song Marry You!

Question

A Special Note

Answer

June 1st is Lindsey's grandmother and grandfather's wedding anniversary. Lois and Allan Van Kirk were married in 1951 in South Dakota (Sturgis), and honeymooned at the Grand Canyon. There will be a special picture at the venue celebrating this shared anniversary.

Question

Snapped A Picture?

Answer

Please use the hashtag #PartyLikeAParsons to tag your photos on social media (and tag us) so we can view them later! You can also text the pictures to Lindsey. We can't wait to see what moments you capture!

Question

What If I Didn't RSVP?

Answer

To help us with our planning, we kindly ask that you RSVP by the date we've provided of April 1st. If we don't receive your RSVP by the date specified, we can't make exceptions and will have to mark you as "not attending". We need to provide the venue and vendors with a total guest count in a timely manner, and we don't want to risk any hiccups in the planning process. We hope you can understand. (Don't get Lindsey started on due dates, her teacher voice comes out real quick!)
