Officiant
Simon is a yearly pilgrim from DC to Colorado, specifically to Lindsay and Rob's house. Their friendship is built on mutual respect for the other's hilarity, random knowledge, and intensity during floor hockey games. Simon knows more about more things than most people. So if you see him, ask him about robots, synth music, space, Bollywood, Montgomery County recreational ball hockey, or snakes. Or probably anything else. He's cool.
Maid of Honor
BFFs since high school at Springbrook, Sarah's the reason Lindsay even heard of Rob Riker in the first place! Sarah lived on the same floor as Rob during their freshman year at University of Maryland College Park. Lindsay and Sarah have many long running traditions that mostly include Sarah signing Lindsay up to volunteer on various political campaigns. Other shared interests include potatoes, baking, giraffes, and carboard boxes. Together they're still children- but very competent children.
Bridesmaid
Katie and Lindsay met in 2012 when Katie was living in Lindsay's mom Kathy's basement. Nothing weird- Katie was just working at Barrie School with Kathy. Lindsay thought Katie may be a nun, but she wasn't. She just wore a lot of turtlenecks and long skirts. They soon became best friends and now talk on the phone every day since neither of them have "real" jobs. Fun fact: They also have the same middle name.
Bridesmaid
Lindsay and Leah became fast friends in high school while setting up for a mutual friend's surprise party. Mostly because they decorated a lamp. Since then they have bonded over Harry Potter, swim team, and snuggles and are Official Travel Buddies. Lindsay has fewer phone calls with Leah these days since she moved to Hawaii (!!!) to work on a TV show. The time difference is new and confusing. But they still love each other the most.
Bridesmaid
Anna and Lindsay fell in friend-love in college at Skidmore. They never really did the same things, but found a way to hang out all the time anyway. Now they're excellent phone-friends, and visits to Anna in Chicago are a (non-pandemic) yearly staple for Lindsay. Lindsay can't wait to visit Anna in her new condo so they can have a sleepover, eat delicious food, and take lots of walks.
Bridesmaid
Lindsay and Anna became buddies in high school with the help of Sarah. Once their love bloomed, they had many swim meets, sleepovers, and car rides singing to Tenacious D. Lindsay and Anna like to make silly faces, talk about their puppies, and snuggle.
Bridesmaid
Dani and Lindsay are Day 1 OG College Besties. They met at theatre pre-orientation at Skidmore, discovered their love of musicals, Disney, and Harry Potter, and decided to live together for the next 4 years. They both became teachers, are obsessed with babies, and think the other is absolutely hilarious.
Best Man
Sean got very upset that Rob was taking all his speech material, so he nixed his entire bio. Please tune in for Sean’s best man speech to learn all about their friendship!
Groomsman
Daniel (Danz) is Robert’s middle brother, and really his first friend. They share a deep love of stories, and spent their childhood making up complex stories with detailed characters, swordfights, and systems of government. You could usually find them playing Lego, Dungeons and Dragons, or building their famous under the tree game. He only came to visit because Rob is FINALLY getting married. Danz loves juggling, unicycling, reading, wacky hats, and getting very into fandoms years after everyone else.
Groomsman
William is Robert’s youngest, shortest, and coolest brother. He is widely known for dropping out of kindergarten because both his brothers were homeschooling so why should he have to go to school? Robert pushed his passion for baseball and other sports on to William, who ended up being much better at all of them. Luckily for Rob, he is 6 years older so he was still able to win a lot! Because Rob and Danz decided to follow their passions William has had to be the responsible one with a real career so that someone will be able to support the family. William loves coffee, baseball, sushi, going to the gym, and cool shoes, and is finally being forced to unplug this weekend!
Groomsman
Dan and Rob became friends at the beginning of high school and began unironically referring to themselves as the dynamic duo. They initially bonded over handball, having lots of feelings, and being hilarious. Over time they were basically adopted into each other’s families as the extra boy, even going out with Dan’s parents to celebrate their 21st birthdays. The good news is that they are still surprisingly good at sports, quite hilarious, and best friends. Dan loves craft beer, the Washington Capitals, chocolate chip cookies, giant hugs, and making the perfectly timed rejoinder.
Groomsman
Gavin and Rob became friends at the age of 10 through a homeschooling Shakespeare group, and even more specifically through Dungeons and Dragons! From imaginative and creative young boys who love made up adventures they have grown into… adults who love the same things. Gavin and Rob managed to get into (and out of) lots of trouble together and they still play games together regularly. Gavin loves science fiction, dogs, old cars that barely run, aquariums, Dungeons and Dragons, and getting Rob into new hobbies.
Groomsman
Kevin and Rob were randomly assigned roommates (in a triple!) their freshman year at the University of Maryland. Before meeting in person Rob’s brother took one look at Kevin’s picture and said, “This is your roommate?” And Rob said, “Hey! He may end up being my best friend, you never know.” And he did! Rob and Kevin bonded over everything from their (forced) friendship with Sarah and being tall and skinny, to being brilliant geniuses who are also giant weirdos. They ended up living together for four years, which was only recently surpassed by Lindsay as the longest Rob has lived with anyone. Kevin even hosted the party where Rob and Lindsay first met! Kevin loves making a mess, discussing history, mac and cheese, the Supreme Court, African art, silly dance parties, and flip flops.
Flower Child
Prior to their first meeting, Zach was described to Rob as “the angry short kid who lived on the hill.” And now 23 years later not much has changed. As two very smart opinionated people who love to be right Rob and Zach butted heads quite regularly growing up. Through this process they realized they are both the best, and that most other people do not live up to their standards. Zach taught Rob most of the curse words he knows, as well as how to be deeply principled and scathingly sarcastic. They regularly enjoy meandering discussions about an eclectic range of things, often when they should be doing something important instead. Zach loves procrastinating, sarcasm, gin and tonics, dance parties, and desperately trying to make the world a slightly better place.
Flower Child
Pierre is Rob’s oldest friend. They met at the age of 9 when Rob moved to Takoma Park and saw Pierre walking to chess camp and stopped him to say hi. They have pretty much been friends ever since. Pierre patiently participated in all of Zach and Rob’s shenanigans growing up and continues to be a positive silly force who is sweet as pie. For years, they had a tradition where they would get together to watch High Fidelity when they were sad (particularly about romantic things). Thanks to Lindsay, Rob has not needed to call on that tradition for quite a long time. Pierre’s passions include movies, biking, staying up all night for no reason, silly dances, and sustainable food systems!
