A gorgeous spot with trails of all lengths and levels branching off the lake loop. *No Dogs Allowed*
A great medium hike with excellent vistas and a great view from the top. Dogs can come on this one!
A longer, more challenging hike, for those who want some altitude gain and steep inclines to get to the "bald" top. Bring lots of water. The views are worth it. *No dogs allowed*
Our most favorite restaurant in Longmont is also a whiskey house! Get the Bangin' Cauliflower. Seriously.
Excellent breakfast and brunch options!
Excellent lager-centric brewery with abundant and eclectic outdoor seating. REMEMBER TO DRINK WATER
Need tacos? Come here for some great options!!
Local beers! Drink lots of water
Our favorite drive in Colorado! You can drive up to 12,000 ft! To get inside Rocky Mountain National Park (fee area), you need to reserve an entry time IN ADVANCE. It can get crowded VERY quickly. So start this drive as early as possible to beat the crowds and see elk, pikas, and marmots. Remember to STAY ON THE TRAIL, or Lindsay will yell at you. Hit up the summit gift shop for a coffee and a souvenir!
The famed Stanley is a gorgeous icon of Estes Park. Made famous for its inspiration of Stephen King's The Shining, it's supposed to be quite haunted. You can sign up for tours throughout the day, or just go to walk around the grounds and admire the view of Estes Park and the Continental Divide.
In the YMCA of the Rockies campus, but open to the public. Great for trail rides! Rob and his family used to come here over the summer when the boys were younger, and Lindsay just went with her old school during Outdoor Ed.
Enjoy the beauty of Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park via the Estes Park Aerial Tramway. Note that there are no seats in the tram car. Beforehand or afterward, check out the Observation Platform, take a hike or enjoy a picnic lunch; food is available at the onsite coffee shop and gift shop, or you can bring your own.
