August 22-23, the weekend before the wedding is the Blue Angels Airshow. This airshow is one of the most amazing spectacles featuring the Blue Angels and so many amazing aircrafts. If you can come the weekend before the wedding just for this occasion I reccomend it 1000000000%!
Only a two hour drive away is one of the entrances to Yellowstone National Park. If you have never been and have time, I highly suggest going to Yellowstone - even for a day! The wildlife and natural beauty of Yellowstone is one of the main highlights of living in such a beautiful state. Look out for grizzlies, moose, bison and wolves! My advice - the best time to see wildlife is at dawn or dusk. If you can go very early in the morning or be out and about just before sunset - the bears, moose, wolves etc are much better to spot than during the peak of the heat during the day.
Red Lodge is a beautiful mountain town just a one hour drive from Billings. I highly reccomend driving to Red Lodge even just for a couple of hours to walk around, visit their amazing restaurants, and take a nice walk under the Beartooth Mountains.
Take an hour and go to Scheels in Billings - a HUGE store that has everything you can think of. From all sorts of clothing from Vuori, to Northface, to Uggs, to all things outdoors including skiing, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, etc. This store is so amazing it even has a ferris wheel inside and a bowling lane! Definitely take some time to shop at Scheels.
If you have some extra time, take some time and drive up the Beartooth Highway just past Red Lodge. The drive is stunning and the winding roads up the Beartooth Pass are breathtaking. You are highly likely to spot some mountain goats - and the stunning mountain scenery is worth the drive.
Chico Hot Springs is one of our favorite places - if you have extra time around the wedding, take a night to go to Chico Hot Springs just 2 hours west of Billings and enjoy some wind-down time in the hot springs, get some amazing food at the restaurant and take in the amazing views of Paradise Valley.
Take some time around the wedding to check out Pine Creek Lodge - who often have musical entertainment during the summer. In the heart of Paradise Valley and some amazing hikes (we suggest the hike at Pine Creek Campground)! this place is one of our favorites during the summer.
We love this restaurant! Try out the steak tacos or the thai noodle dish - delish!
Our favorite Mexican food here in Billings! Must try are the birria tacos.
Sophies has the best brunch/breakfast! Stop by for a mimosa and some amazing french toast.
If you're from somewhere out of town that doesn't have a Chick Fil A - you need to try! Spicy Deluxe Chicken Sandwich with a side of chickfila sauce is both of our go-to order.
Amazing sushi place!
Great restaurant for a night out downtown - try out the bulgogi korean beef bowl or the meatloaf. Trust me they are amazing!
Great restaurant that's been in Billings for over 40 years! Go here for some amazing steak and amazinnnnng French Onion Soup!
Great food & nice atmosphere for some apps and cocktails too!
Doc's Martini bar is such a fun place to grab a cocktail - also they have a speakeasy through the bookcase as well - just take a knock on the bookshelf to enter :)
The windmill is a great place for dinner/lunch or just to grab a drink. Try out their fried prawns!
