Sam and Lilli first met during one of Lilli’s family trips to the British Virgin Islands in May 2022. For over 20 years, Lilli’s family had been vacationing every few years aboard the same boat, the Cuan Law. That year, Sam happened to be working aboard the sailing trimaran. He started as a scuba instructor but quickly stepped into the role of Captain. From the moment they met, there was an undeniable connection. After the trip, they continued talking and stayed in touch for a full year before officially starting a long-distance relationship. Despite the miles between them, they made it work—traveling back and forth to see each other in the BVI, England, Cornwall, the U.S., and beyond—always making their time together meaningful. Lilli was lucky enough to get to go aboard Cuan Law 5 times with Sam as Captain during those few years. Sam grew up in the small fishing village of Port Isaac in Cornwall, England, and in 2024, the two took a three-month break from work to travel together throughout England, Cornwall, and parts of Europe, including Paris, Sardinia, and Wales. Since then, they've continued taking trips to Cornwall to Sam's hometown. In November 2025, Sam proposed to Lilli in Paradise Valley, Montana, beneath the beautiful Big Sky of Montana—(the same place where Lilli’s parents were married). They are so excited to celebrate their journey & love story with all of you this August!
