Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The color palette for our wedding is posted above. While this is by no means required, please feel free to design your attire around these colors. Of note, while the dress code is "formal," bear in mind this is not a black-tie event. We encourage you to incorporate the mountainesque/cowboy west culture of Durango in your attire. [Optional]

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Due to elevation changes, expect the Black Diamond Lodge to be roughly 5-10˚F cooler than Durango, when checking the whether. -During the day: Shorts, t-shirt, rain jacket (afternoon storms) -In evenings/at night: Temps can drop to 50s, so plan for a coat or light jacket for the wedding as the ceremony will be outdoors. -Sunscreen & sunglasses! - The sun shines 300 days of the year, so we highly recommend having protection handy. -Swimwear - The lodge not only has three hot tubs, but there will be many other opportunities to swim if you like. -Hiking/Walking Shoes - The lodge is surrounded by mountains and many hiking trails to try out while you are here!

Question

Are dogs allowed?

Answer

Yes!

Question

TRANSPORTATION: WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS TO GET TO Black Diamond LODGE?

Answer

-Rental car: the lodge is 50 minutes from the nearest airport and 30 minutes from downtown Durango. If you are flying into town, it would be worthwhile to consider this option. -Shuttles: There are a variety of shuttle companies that can be booked to transport guests to and from the airport -Ubers and Lyfts are not common in this area, so please plan accordingly as we want our guests to be as safe as possible.

Question

Altitude sickness?

Answer

Durango is up there at 6,512 ft above sea level, and the Black Diamond Lodge is 3 minutes from Purgatory Ski Resort which is 8,793 ft above sea level. The best way to adapt to the altitude is to stay hydrated! Some people feel the difference, some don't so when in doubt have your water bottles ready. Another note - 1 drink at altitude = 2-3 drinks at sea level!
