On this page, we have tried to list all the crucial information about getting to Telluride. We know traveling to Telluride is a trek and we want to give you as much information as possible. However, if you still have questions or concerns please let us know! Additionally, we are happy to connect guests who want to share shuttles to/from the airport in Colorado. If you let us know your travel details we can try to link you up with other guests arriving/departing at similar times.

FLYING TO TELLURIDE

There are numerous airports that you can fly into and then travel the remaining miles by car or shuttle: Telluride Regional Airport (TEX): 15 minute drive Montrose-Telluride Regional Airport (MTJ): 1.25 hour drive Cortez, Colorado (CEZ): 1.5 hour drive Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT): 2.5 hour drive Durango-La Plata Regional Airport (DRO): 2.5 hour drive Gunnison, CO (GUC): 2.5 hour drive Moab, Utah (CNY): 2.75 hour drive Albuquerque, NM (ABQ): 5.5 hour drive Denver, CO (DEN): 6 hour drive Telluride Express offers shuttles from TEX, MJT, CEZ, GJT and DRO airports. We have included additional information for the three closest airports to Telluride below.

Flight

Telluride Regional Airport (TEX)

Boutique Air has flights to Telluride from Denver, Phoenix and Page, Arizona. Once you arrive at the airport you are only 10-15 minutes away from downtown Telluride. Rental cars are available at the Telluride Airport, as well as a number of shuttle and ground transportation companies that offer services to/from Telluride.

Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ)

The Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) is the primary airport for Telluride, a scenic 65 miles, or an hour + drive away. Rental cars are available at the Montrose Airport, as well as a number of shuttle and ground transportation services to/from Telluride.

Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT)

The Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT) is another commonly used airport for Telluride. On a recent trip we flew in here and drove a very straight forward and scenic 2.5 hours to Telluride (the drive was exceptionally easy-- we promise) Rental cars are available at the Grand Junction Airport, and you can also arrange a shuttle pickup through Telluride Express.

Hertz and Budget operate out of the Telluride Regional Airport. If you don't want to rent a car a number of shuttle companies are available, however we suggest Telluride Express and we are currently working out a discount price with them. Please check back for those details soon. For shuttles please make sure to book your reservation in advance.

Avis, Budget, Hertz, National/Alamo operate out of the Montrose Regional Airport. If you do not want to rent a car a number of shuttle companies are available, of these we suggest Telluride Express. For shuttles please make sure to book your reservation in advance.

Housed in a restored redbrick building dating from 1895, this classic ski hotel is 3 blocks from both the Telluride/Mountain Village gondola, and ski and bike trails. The colorful, traditional rooms have period accents, and include pillow-top mattresses, flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. Some have mountain views or overlook Main Street. Suites add living areas with pull-out sofas. Morning coffee and tea are complimentary, as is ski storage and access to a nearby health club. A boutique hotel in Telluride, Hotel Telluride has a somewhat quirky exterior, with a turreted tower, Swiss-chalet style wooden balconies, and contrasting textures of brick and stone. The hotel's common area blends comfortable, upscale furnishings with wooden accents, towering ceilings boasting exposed wooden beams, stone flooring and a fireplace. Rooms include comfortable oversize furniture with a masculine, outdoors feel and in-room microwave, refrigerator, and wet bar in some rooms. An on-site restaurant, exercise room, in-room massage, and free shuttle to the gondola round out the hotel amenities.

Telluride has tons of houses and condos at different sizes and price points for rent-- and AirBnB is a great resource to book them through. This is also a good option if you want to link up with other guests and do a rental together. While things slow down in early October we still suggest you book any housing sooner rather than later.
